Wilks Brothers LLC acquired about 2.7 million common shares of Trican Well Service Ltd. on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Jan. 19, Wilks said that day.
Prior to the transaction, Wilks owned about 14.8 million common shares, about 9.9% of the issued and outstanding shares. Now, Wilks owns or controls about 16.9 million shares, about 11.85% of the issued and outstanding shares.
Wilks made the acquisitions for investment purposes and said it has not considered its role in any future acquisitions of, or ownership over, additional Trican securities.
Wilks Brothers LLC is based in Cisco, Texas.
Trican Well Service Ltd. is based in Calgary, Alberta.
