Hart Energy's Eldon Ball spoke with James T. McManus, the chairman, president and CEO of Energen, at the recent Executive Oil Conference in Midland, Texas. Previously, the company had just been "holding acreage" in the Delaware Basin, but it is moving toward a "development phase" there where it foresees lower efficiencies costs and success in tighter stages with white sand and slickwater fracks.
