Dorchester Minerals LP, Dallas, (NasdaqGS: DMLP) has acquired producing and nonproducing mineral and royalty interests in the Barnett shale in Tarrant County, Texas, from Tiggator Inc., TRB Minerals and West Fork Parnters LP for approximately $30.4 million in stock. The properties consist of varying undivided mineral and overriding royalty interests in six tracts totaling approximately 1,820 acres. All of the mineral interests were leased in 2003 to a predecessor of Chesapeake Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, (NYSE: CHK) which is operator and majority working interest owner in the properties. Net revenue interest in the properties ranges from 0.5% to 20%. Gross production during February 2009 from 25 wells was 537 million cubic feet. Dorchester paid 1,600,000 common limited partnership units.
