TopSail Energy LP, a recently formed midstream energy company, completed the acquisition of a 44-acre undeveloped industrial site in Baytown, Texas; and will begin constructing a new processing facility to recycle and repurpose used motor oil into marketable feedstocks, fuels and additives.
The in-service target for the Baytown facility is during the first quarter of 2017. The facility will receive and process more than 125,000 gallons per day of used motor oil into feedstocks for refineries, fuel for marine vessels, additives for asphalt and other products.
The Baytown property has almost 40 acres of undeveloped, industrial-zoned land being marketed for liquids storage, logistics and processing opportunities.
Tailwater Capital LLC will finance the initial Baytown site and future locations, TopSail said.
Jim Lelio, TopSail’s CEO, said that the company plans to have a long-term national processing arrangement and will construct several regional locations for this plan across the U.S. over the next 18 months.
TopSail Energy LP is based in The Woodlands, Texas.
