Canada’s Perisson Petroleum Corp. closed its purchase of the Ribstone property in east-central Alberta and the Success property in southwest Saskatchewan.
Perisson said Sept. 30 that it will evaluate the opportunities, identified by the vendor, to drill up to 10 McLaren and 8 Sparky oil wells on the Ribstone property.
The Alberta Energy Regulator assigned 6 million barrels of oil in place to the Ribstone pool and, to date, only 5% of this oil has been recovered. Oil has also been produced from the Sparky Zone about 60 m to 80 m below the McLaren Zone in some of the wells adjacent to Ribstone.
Perisson will operate the properties. It plans to recomplete one of the wells at Ribstone and convert another to provide onsite water disposal.
