A horizontal Rodessa discovery in Henderson County (RRC Dist. 5), Texas, was announced by O’Benco Inc. The #2H Beecher-Cox is in Thomas Lake Field and is located on a 479.2-acre lease in the James Coggin Survey, A-165. It was tested pumping 160 bbl of 37.8-degree-gravity crude and 234 bbl of water per day through perforations at 8,754-13,273 ft. The well was drilled to 13,521 ft, 8,434 ft true vertical, and bottomed about one mile to the southwest in W.B. Stirman Survey, A-726. The Shreveport, La.-based company has also scheduled two offsetting horizontal Rodessa tests within two miles to the northeast, #1H Tiner Unit and #1H Holliday Unit in the Jose M. Cabasos Survey, A-146.
