MarkWest Energy Partners LP appointed J. Mike Stice to the board of directors at MarkWest Energy GP LLC, the general partner, the company said May 18.
Stice will stand for election at the annual meeting of common unitholders, the company said.
Most recently, Stice was CEO of Access Midstream Partners LP’s general partner. He was also a director of the general partner from July 2012 through February 2015, when the company was acquired.
Previously, Stice spent more than four years as senior vice president of natural gas projects at Chesapeake Energy Corp. (CHK) and as president and COO of Chesapeake’s primary midstream subsidiaries.
Stice also spent 27 years at ConocoPhillips (COP) and its predecessors.
“Mike brings a wealth of industry and senior executive experience and we are very excited to welcome him as the newest member of our board,” Frank Semple, MarkWest’s chairman, president and CEO, said. “His knowledge of the entire energy value chain and progressive leadership expertise will further strengthen our position as a premier growth-oriented master limited partnership.”
Domestic midstream-focused MarkWest Energy Partners LP is based in Denver.
