A saltwater disposal well in McKenzie County, N.D., released about 2,200 bbl of brine but the water was contained and recovered, the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division said July 27.
The Jessica SWD 1 spill apparently resulted following a fire caused by a lightning strike, state officials said.
The well is about 7 miles Northwest of Mandaree.
