Range Resources Corp., Fort Worth, Texas, (NYSE: RRC) has acquired privately owned Fort Worth-based Stroud Energy Inc. for cash and stock worth approximately $314 million, plus some $102 million of assumed debt. Range paid $168.2 million in cash and issued 6.4 million shares valued at US$22.77 each in the deal, which was structured as a merger.
