1 Three wildcats are scheduled for Graham County, Kan. Lario Oil & Gas Co., based in Wichita, Kan., is planning one 3.5 miles north of Morland. It will drill the #1-26 Worcester in Section 26-7s-25w. The 4,200-ft. well will test the Topeka and Lansing-Kansas City. The second is planned by Russell Oil Inc., based in Plainfield, Ill., on the northeastern edge of Hill City. Russell staked its #1-12 F&M in Section 12-8s-23w. The 3,700-ft. well will test the Marmaton and is designed to primarily evaluate the Lansing-Kansas City. The third well is planned by Penokee, Kan.-based Ron's Oil Operation Inc., about 3.5 miles west of Bogue. The #15-1 Keith, in Section 15-8s-22w, will evaluate formations through the Arbuckle. 2 Norstar Petroleum Inc., based in Englewood, Colo., completed a discovery in west-central Ness County, 6 miles west-northwest of Ness City, Kan., in the northern Hugoton Embayment. According to IHS Energy, the #1-18 Dinges, located in Section 18-18s-24w in Dex South Field, produced 2,931 bbl. of crude in December 2003 and 2,972 bbl. in January 2004. The 4,458-ft. well has been perforated and acidized in the Cherokee sand between 4,324-50 ft. Just over three-quarters of a mile to the southeast, the #1 Stenzel produced 22,915 bbl. of oil from the Cherokee at about 4,310 ft. in slightly more than 3 years on line. 3 A 6,570-ft. wildcat drilled by Seeco Inc., based in Fayetteville, Ark., flowed gas at an initial rate of 7.1 million cu. ft. daily during initial tests. The #1-7 Albright is located in Section 7-5n-25w in western Yell County, about a mile south of the town of Blue Mountain in northern Arkansas. The well is producing from two fracture-stimulated intervals between 2,956 and 3,084 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 315 psi through a 64/64-in. choke. The SEECO wildcat is nearly 2 miles northwest of the westernmost well in Waveland Field and 5 miles east-northeast of Sugar Grove Field. 4 El Dorado, Ark., independent Schuler Drilling Co. Inc. is drilling a southern Arkansas wildcat almost 3 miles from the Louisiana state line in southern Union County. The #1 Osment, located in Section 14-19s-17w, is slated to the Cotton Valley at 7,700 ft. About 1.3 miles to the southwest in the single-well Three Creeks East Field is the #1 Pierce. It flowed 40-degree-gravity crude at the daily rate of 51 bbl. through an interval between 6,600-80 ft. in the Cotton Valley. The 8,793-ft. well yielded 9,400 bbl. until 1990. 5 Unit Petroleum Co., based in Tulsa, Okla., gauged an initial natural flow rate of 301 bbl. of 36-degree oil and 379,000 cu. ft. of gas daily, with no water, at a shallower pool discovery completed on the Anadarko Basin's northern shelf. The #2 Pittman "A," located in Section 8-24n-23w in northern Ellis County, 4 miles southeast of May, Okla., is producing through untreated perforations in the Oswego between 6,706-20 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 925 psi on a 13/64-in. choke. Total depth is 7,700 ft. The nearest producer is more than 1.5 miles to the south-southwest. The #1-17 Oliver produced 890 million cu. ft. of gas with 1,900 bbl. of condensate from the Morrow between 7,666-84 ft. It was reentered with added perforations in the Oswego between 6,966-76 ft. It has recovered an additional 142 million cu. ft. of gas. 6 Chesapeake Operating Inc., based in Oklahoma City, completed two discoveries in northern Stephens County, Okla., within the eastern city limits of Marlow. The #1-17 Todd, located in Section 20-2n-7w, flowed gas at an initial rate of 4.88 million cu. ft. daily, with 84 bbl. of 54-degree condensate and 7 bbl. of water per day. Production at the 16,700-ft. well is from five Dornick Hill intervals between 16,035 and 16,268 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 1,000 psi on a 36/64-in. choke. Less than a mile east is the #1-16 Whitaker in Section 16-2n-7w. It was initially tested flowing at an unstimulated rate of 541 bbl. of high-gravity oil and 4.6 million cu. ft. of gas daily, with no water. Flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 1,275 psi on a 23/64-in. choke. Production is from the Lower Hoxbar, Deese and Dornick Hills through intervals between 12,176 and 14,784 ft. 7 Yates Petroleum Corp., based in Artesia, N.M., completed a Morrow wildcat in southern Eddy County, 7 miles south-southwest of the town of Loving, N.M. Located in Section 23-24s-27e, the #1 Humidor State Unit was tested flowing 4.1 million cu. ft. of gas daily, with no condensate or water, through perforations between 12,366 and 12,412 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 1,210 psi on a 24/64-in. choke. Two-thirds of a mile to the west-southwest is the #1 Target "23" State. The 12,700-ft. well recovered 738.6 million cu. ft. of gas, 39 bbl. of condensate and 580 bbl. of water until 1994. 8 Irving, Texas-based Gruy Petroleum Management Co. completed a wildcat in southern Eddy County, about 25 miles south of Carlsbad, N.M. The #1 Chosa Draw "27" Federal Com, located in Section 27-25s-26e, was tested flowing 1.6 million cu. ft. of gas daily, with no liquids, from the Strawn. Flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 2,760 psi on a 6/64-in. choke. The nearest producer is a 3,600-ft. well a third of a mile northwest. The #1 Monsanto Federal flowed 248,000 cu. ft. of gas daily from the Delaware between 1,883-88 ft. 9 HRF Exploration & Production Co., based in Gaylord, Mich., completed a rare Admire discovery on the western flank of the Cimarron Uplift, less than a mile north-northeast of Stratford, Texas. The #1 Bergner, Section 165, Block 1-T, T&NO Survey, A-270, is a workover of a 5,840-ft. dry hole in western Sherman County (Texas Railroad Commission Dist. 10). Initial production of 1.5 million cu. ft. of gas with no water is from lightly acidized perforations between 3,268-98 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was 343 psi on a 26/64-in. choke, according to IHS Energy. 10 Wichita Falls, Texas-based Dry Fork Production Co. LLC permitted a wildcat within 2 miles east of the town of Medicine Mound in southern Hardeman County (RRC 9), Texas. The #1 McLennan-Kennedy, located in Section 46, Block H, W&NW Survey, A-1531, could extend Quinby Field over 2 miles to the west. Total depth is proposed to 8,400 ft. Nearly two-thirds of a mile to the south-southeast is the #1 Kennedy Unit in Conley South Field, which is pumping crude from the Palo Pinto between 5,252-56 ft. Since early 1985, the 8,450-ft. well yielded a cumulative 1,598 bbl. of oil and 14,000 cu. ft. of casinghead gas. 11 Cambrian Management Ltd., based in Midland, Texas, is drilling a Matador Arch wildcat in western Hale County (RRC 8A), over 8 miles south-southeast of Plainview, Texas. The #1 Alm, located in Section 29, Block N, George M. Schick Survey, A-1807, is slated to reach 6,200 ft. The nearest production is nearly 12 miles to the south-southwest in Petersburg Field. The #1 Fisher was completed in 1982 flowing 41.5-degree oil at the daily rate of 117 bbl. through perforations between 6,948-58 ft. in the Cisco Reef. The workover yielded 29,200 bbl. of crude, 11.72 million cu. ft. of casinghead gas and 104,277 bbl. of water until 1994. 12 Medders Oil Co. Inc., based in Wichita Falls, Texas, completed a wildcat about 6 miles southwest of the town of Guthrie, Texas, in western King County (RRC 8A). The #1 Somervell "6666," League 2, Somervell County School Land Survey, A-287, was tested pumping 181 bbl. of oil daily from the Tannehill B perforations between 3,793 and 3,808 ft. About 1.3 miles to the west-northwest, the #11 Pitchfork-Maverick "B" was completed in 1983 pumping 128 bbl. of 36-degree crude per day from the Tannehill between 3,750-65 ft., according to IHS Energy. 13 Abilene, Texas-based Tahoe Exploration Inc. tested a wildcat in northeastern Jones County (RRC 7B) Griffin Field within a mile south of the town of Avoca, Texas. The #1 Swenson "A" pumped 25 bbl. of 39-degree crude and 4 bbl. of water daily through acidized perforations in the Lower Tannehill between 1,562-70 ft. Drilled to a total depth of 3,240 ft. in Section 22, Block 4, H&TC Survey, A-890, it yielded 500 bbl. of oil prior to completion. Less than a half mile to the north is the #1 TLM Culwell. It tested pumping 60 bbl. of 47-degree crude daily with a trace of gas and no water through an openhole interval between 3,209-12 ft., total depth. 14 Sundance Resources Inc., based in Irving, Texas, scheduled a Barnett Shale test 5 miles southwest of the Azle, Texas, city limits in northern Parker County (RRC 7B). The #1 Morgan-Harding-Sundance, located in the M.J.Young Survey, A-2081, about 3.5 miles west of the Tarrant County line. The nearest producer is over 4 miles southeast in Newark East Field. The #A1 Smelley, located in T&P Survey, A-1505, flowed 1.3 million cu. ft. of gas and 383 bbl. of water daily from the Barnett shale between 6,526 and 6,726 ft. The 6,866-ft. well recovered a cumulative 125 million cu. ft. of gas and 11,999 bbl. of water. 15 Ruidoso, N.M.- based J. Ray Stewart scheduled a wildcat in westernmost Culberson County (RRC 8) in West Texas. The #1A Wilson Ranch-State, slated to reach 1,000 ft., is located in Section 16, Block 66, T4S, T&P Survey, A-5146, 35 miles north of the town of Van Horn. About 22 miles to the north-northeast is the #1 Culberson-Fee "S," completed in 1967. It was tested flowing 23,000 cu. ft. of gas daily from the Wolfcamp between 6,395 and 6,405 ft., according to IHS Energy. 16 LeClair Operating Inc., based in Abilene, Texas, permitted a shallow wildcat almost 10 miles from the town of Eden in southeastern Concho County (RRC 7C), Texas. The #1 Loveless "A," located in Section 1780, Block 70, Johann R. Hoffman Survey, A-353, is slated to reach 2,000 ft. The closest producer is in Branch South Field, 2.5 miles to the southwest. The #5 L.A. Bridges was completed in August 2002, pumping 31-degree oil from the Tannehill Sand through perforations between 670-76 ft.
