Crawley, of Oklahoma City, drilled the #1-2 Hercyk in Section 2-26n-1e, 0.25-mile west of inactive Pennsylvanian Burbank (Red Fork) wells in Garrett Northwest Field. 6 A half-mile north extension of Oklahoma's Falkner Southeast Field has been initialed by Chaparral Energy Inc. flowing 1.2 million cu. ft. of gas and 15 bbl. of water per day on a 30/64-in. choke from Pennsylvanian Oswego. According to IHS Energy Group, Oklahoma City-based Chaparral's #1-16 Phillips is in Section 16-28n-16w, Woods County. It gave up the flow on a 30/64-in. choke through perforations at 5,200-04 and 5,255-61 ft. Chaparral has tested Mississippian at two other exploratory tests in the area. Half a mile north of the #1-16 Phillips, Chaparral ran pipe to 5,478 ft. at the #1-9 Phillips in Section 9-28n-16w and 0.75-mile northeast of the #1-16 Phillips, pipe is set at 5,329 ft. at the #1-10 Phillips, drilled in Section 10-28n-16w. 7 United Oil Corp., a subsidiary of the Denver firm Credo Petroleum Corp., is selling 3 million cu. ft. of gas per day at the #1-5 Glendena, 0.5-mile northeast of an abandoned well in Oklahoma's Mocane-Laverne Field. The 7,650-ft. well, in Section 5-24n-23w, Ellis County, is also producing six bbl. of condensate per day. IHS Energy Group says the well is producing through a 14/64-in. choke from one of two Pennsylvanian Morrow sands encountered. The new producer is on United's 1,280-acre Sand Creek prospect. 8 Texas' Montague County is the site of a Mississippian Barnett Shale discovery completed by W.B. Osborn Oil & Gas Operations producing 280 bbl. of oil, 50,000 cu. ft. of gas and 45 bbl. of water daily on pump. The company perforated between 7,910-8,288 ft. at the #2 Fields #2 Barnettshale Unit in J.L. Conditt Survey, A-159. The San Antonio operator's discovery is a workover of a 9,600-ft. well originally completed in 1984 producing oil from Ordovician Ellenburger at 9,090-9,116 ft. Plugged-back depth is 8,650 ft. 9 An oil discovery, the #1 Hazelwood that was completed by Dallas-based Heape Exploration Inc. in Grayson County, Texas, was tested for a flow of 240 bbl. of oil and 150,000 cu. ft. of gas per day on a 14/64-in. choke. The well, in Section 11, Empson Thompson Survey, A-1227, in the Gordonville East Field area, is producing through perforations at 9,672-9,700 ft. Previously, production in the field had come from 9,344-9,543 ft. in Dornick Hills and 10,241-10,639 ft. in Viola. 10 Winkler County, Texas, claims a Devonian discovery finaled by Blue Star Operating Co., Midland, for a flow gauge of 1.093 million cu. ft. of gas, six bbl. of condensate and 86 bbl. of water per day. Blue Star used a 48/64-in. choke to obtain the gauge at the #2 Morton "11," in Section 11, Block B12, PSL Survey, A-1705. Perforations are at 10,710-10,842 ft. IHS Energy Group notes the deeper-pool discovery is on Blue Star's Winkler prospect, in an area of oil production from about 2,500-3,100 ft. in Halley Field. 11 TMBR/Sharp Drilling Inc., Midland, is active at an 18,000-ft. wildcat in Reeves County and has staked a 22,000-ft. wildcat in Loving County in West Texas.
