1 Range Oil Co. Inc., Wichita, Kan., staked a wildcat to reach gas pays in the Mississippian. Projected to reach a total depth of 2,890 ft., the #1 Koehm "C" is in Section 16-19s-1e, 2.5 miles northwest of Lehigh in western Marion County in central Kansas. The site is a mile southwest of the #1 Schlehuber in Schlehuber Field. It went onstream in early 2004 and produced 110,000 to 120,000 cu. ft. of gas daily through September. At that time, it had produced a total of 25 million cu. ft. of gas. 2 Wichita, Kan., independent F.G. Holl Co. LLC staked a wildcat in eastern Pawnee County, three miles northwest of Radium, Kan. The #1-26 Schartz, in Section 26-21s-15w, is slated to reach 3,950 ft. to evaluate formations in the Arbuckle. It is 0.75-mile northeast of the easternmost wells in Hurray North Field, which produced 649,000 bbl. of oil from nine wells tapping the Simpson and Arbuckle between 3,875 and 3,925 ft. 3 Seeco Inc., the Fayetteville, Ark.-based unit of Southwestern Energy Co., has proposed three exploratory tests to the Arkansas Oil & Gas Commission in the northeastern Arkoma Basin, some eight to 12 miles southwest of the town of Clinton, Ark. Included in the orders are sections 17-10n-15w and 25-10n-16w in southern Van Buren County, and Section 1-9n-16w in northern Conway County. The company also wants approval to drill a 3,550-ft. well at a location in Section 17-10n-15w; a 3,220-ft. test in Section 25-10n-16w; and another 3,550-ft. wildcat in Section 1-9n-16w. The tests would evaluate formations through the Mississippian Boone and are presumed to test the Fayetteville Shale. 4 Seeco Inc. has also permitted a 6,000-ft. wildcat in Yell County, Ark., in the northern outskirts of the town of Belleville. The #1-10 Standridge, in Section 10-5n-23w, will test Pennsylvanian formations through the Upper Borum. The closest of three dry holes, the #1-15 Standridge, is in Section 15-5n-23w. No information was released on the 8,007-ft. well. 5 Oklahoma City-based GLB Exploration Inc. completed a Hunton producer in southwestern Logan County, three miles northwest of the Edmond, Okla., city limits. The #1 Schaul, in Section 30-15n-3w, was tested flowing 150 bbl. of 38-gravity oil and 140,000 cu. ft. of gas per day, with no water, through acidized perforations between 6,104-21 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 500 psi on an 11/64-in. choke. The closest previous producer is 1.25 miles south. The #2-31 Ziegelgruber had an initial pumping potential of 20 bbl. of oil, 50,000 cu. ft. of gas and 50 bbl. of water daily from the Hunton through intervals between 6,301-10 ft. and Second Wilcox at 6,647-64 ft. However, it produced less than 1,000 bbl. of oil during 10 months online. 6 Newfield Exploration Co.'s Midcontinent unit has completed a wildcat two miles south of Centrahoma, Okla., in central Coal County. The #1-10 Bull Mountain, in Section 10-1n-9e, produced 30 million cu. ft. of gas from the Wapanucka and Cromwell during its first nine months online, averaging 68,000 cu. ft. per day at last report. The wildcat was designed to evaluate the Gilcrease, Wapanucka and Cromwell and drilled to a total depth of 6,900 ft. The new producer is more than half a mile north-northeast a non-commercial discovery drilled in 1976 on the western shelf of the Arkoma Basin. The #1 Round Lake pump-tested five bbl. of oil daily through intervals in the Wapanucka between 5,744 and 5,920 ft., the Cromwell between 6,506-66 ft., the Sycamore between 7,108-20 ft.and the Hunton between 7,288-98 ft. 7 Mack Energy Corp., Artesia, N.M., staked a Morrow wildcat in northern Eddy County more than six miles south-southeast of the town of Hope, N.M. The #1 Chief State Com, in Section 28-18s-23e, is slated to reach a total depth 7,000 ft. The nearest production is about 1.3 miles northeast in Antelope Sink Field. There, the #1 Antelope Federal was completed flowing gas from the Abo through perforations between 4,568 and 4,697 ft. At a total depth of 4,825 ft., the well has yielded 159.67 million cu. ft. of gas. 8 Tulsa, Okla.-based Latigo Petroleum Texas LP staked a 10,635-ft. wildcat in the western Anadarko Basin, 16 miles east-northeast of Stinnett, Texas, in northeastern Hutchinson County (RRC 10). The #1 Gladys Harvey, in Section 37, Block 47, H&TC Survey, A-67, will presumably evaluate horizons through the Ellenburger. The drillsite is 1.25 miles south of the easternmost well in a Granite Wash pool at about 6,700 ft. The seven-well field had a cumulative production of 618,000 bbl. of oil, 883 million cu. ft. of gas and 92,000 bbl. of water. 9 Texakoma E&P Inc., Dallas, received a permit to drill a wildcat northeast of New Mobeetie, Texas, in Wheeler County (RRC 10). The #1-82 Shelton, in Section 82, Block A-5, H&GN Survey, A-8271, is estimated to reach 7,582 ft. and will target Douglas sand. The well is a mile east of the 13,200-ft. #1 Shelton in Candice Field. The Morrow producer had an initial flowing potential of 1.6 million cu. ft. of gas daily and has produced 1.27 billion cu. ft. of gas, 23,000 bbl. of condensate and 6,000 bbl. of water from perforations between 12,724-32 ft. 10 LMG Operating Co. Inc., Graham, Texas, staked a wildcat in westernmost Knox County (RRC 9) just east of the King County (RRC 8A) line. The #1 Moorhouse "A" is in Section 118, Block 13, H&TC Survey, A-1831, more than 10 miles west of the town of Benjamin, and more than three miles west Ross Ranch Field in King County. A well in that field, the #9 W. R. Ross "A," yielded 4.12 million bbl. of oil, 337.14 million cu. ft. of casinghead gas and 40.75 million bbl. of water from 1945 until 2002. 11 Abilene, Texas-based Dale W. Morris Inc. staked a wildcat in the northernmost portion of Hamilton County (RRC 7B) less than a mile northeast of the town of Hico, Texas. The #1A Ryan, in John S. Preston Survey, A-665, about 1.33 miles south of the junction of Erath and Bosque (RRC 5) counties, is projected to 4,800 ft. The well is a quarter-mile northwest of abandoned Soyuz Field. The #1 Ryan produced a cumulative 1,571 bbl. of oil and 41,000 cu. ft. of casinghead gas during a year onstream through treated intervals between 4,423-34 ft. 12 McCabe Energy Inc., Midland, completed a wildcat in the Lower Cherry Canyon in southernmost Loving County (RRC 8) in West Texas. The #1 University, in Section 32, Block 20, University Lands Survey, more than eight miles west of the Monahans, was tested pumping 94 bbl. of oil, 104,000 cu. ft. of gas and 148 bbl. of water per day through acid- and fracture-stimulated perforations. Total depth is 9,500 ft. The closest producer is 1.25 miles south-southeast. 13 Midland-based Fasken Oil & Ranch Ltd staked two wildcats in West Texas nearly 40 miles southeast of Fort Stockton in Pecos County (RRC 8). The #1 Slaughter Northeast "18," in Section 17, Block 128, T&STL Survey, A-3454, is projected to reach a total depth of 9,000 ft. Four miles northeast in western Terrell County is the nearest producer. The #4901 Hackberry flowed 7.7 million cu. ft. of gas daily from commingled zones between 13,483 and 16,164 ft. in the Strawn, Devonian and Ellenburger. Flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 824 psi on a 36/64-in. choke. 14 Prime Operating Co., Midland, scheduled a northeastern Reagan County (RRC 7C) wildcat to test the Fusselman. The #1 GPS, in Section 6, Block A, Nancy Honea Survey, A-208, about 20 miles north-northeast of the town of Big Lake, Texas, is slated to reach 12,000 ft. Located in the same section is the #6 B. Rocker "E." It was completed in 1976 flowing 87 bbl. of oil per day through intervals between 5,851 and 6,951 ft. 15 Pure Resources LP, Midland, staked a wildcat in southeastern Upton County (RRC 7C) nearly three miles east-southeast of the town of Rankin, Texas. The #1 University "58-1," in Section 1, Block 58, University Lands Survey, is proposed to reach a total depth of 9,500 ft. More than 1.75 miles south-southwest is the #152 Happle-Three, which was completed in 1985 flowing 35 bbl. of oil and 48 bbl. of water daily through intervals between 9,228-42 ft. It opened Highline Roost Field. 16 Houston-based Newfield Exploration Co. completed a wildcat about two miles east of the Val Verde County line in northwestern Edwards County (RRC 1). The #3 Whitehead 46 tested flowing gas at the daily rate of 1.8 million cu. ft., with no liquids, from acid- and fracture-treated perforations in the Strawn between 10,816-83 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 515 psi on a 22/64-in. choke. It is in Section 46, Block B, GC&SF RR Co. Survey, A-2714, and has a total depth of 11,321 ft.
