A Comanche County venture-the #13-5 Corbett-Gates-is to be drilled by Star Resources LLC, Englewood, in Section 13-34s-17w. Ordovician Viola is to be tested to a depth of 6,300 ft. Denver-based Connelly Exploration Inc. is set to drill to 4,350 ft. in Mississippian at the #1 Coberly Partnership in Section 15-14s-28w, Gove County. Lansing-Kansas City is the principal objective. 2 A Pennsylvanian Lower Morrow Sand discovery completed near two Permian gas wells in the greater Guymon-Hugoton Field area in Texas County, Okla., flowed 4.74 million cu. ft. of gas, 69 bbl. of condensate and 13 bbl. of water per day. The deeper-pool discovery, made by Phillips Petroleum Co. at the #2A Nichols "A" in Section 11-1n-12ecm, is producing through perforations at 6,754-82 ft. It was tested on a 28/64-in. choke. 3 Tulsa independent Kaiser-Francis Oil Co. finaled its #1-33 Banks-Huddle, Section 33-9n-19w, Washita County, Okla., flowing 4.77 million cu. ft. of gas per day to extend an unnamed field about a mile to the east. Pennsylvanian Des Moinesian Granite Wash was tested on a 19/64-in. choke through perforations at 13,090-13,146 ft. Another stepout, the #1-26 Shields 0.5-mile off the western flank of the field in Section 26-9n-20w, is being production tested by Kaiser-Francis. 4 Two Lower Mississippian Jackfork gas producers have been completed by The GHK Co. LLC in the Potato Hills Field area in Oklahoma. According to IHS Energy Group, the Oklahoma City-based operator gauged a flow of 12.02 million cu. ft. per day at the #2-32 Allen, Section 32-3n-20e, Latimer County. The well is producing through perforations at 5,130-40 ft and 5,222-37 ft. A half-mile to the southwest, in Pushmataha County, GHK has completed the westernmost well in its program for a flow of 8.81 million cu. ft. of gas per day. The extension-the #1-6 Guggenhime in Section 6-2n-20e-was tested through perforations at 4,754-69 ft. GHK used a 36/64-in. choke to test both wells. 5 Gas flowed at a daily rate of 22.4 million cu. ft., with 108 bbl. of load water, at a development well completed by Oklahoma City independent Chesapeake Operating Inc. in Oklahoma's Cement Field. The #1-9 Della, Section 9-5n-9w, Caddo County, yielded the flow through a 29/64-in. choke from six perforated intervals between 13,466-13,754 ft. in Pennsylvanian Springer. Meanwhile, in the Verden Field/Cement Field area of Caddo County, Apache Corp., Houston, recorded a flow of 10.3 million cu. ft. of gas and 76 bbl. of condensate per day from the McComas member of Springer at its #1-35 Summers. The 18,520-ft. development well is in Section 35-7n-9w. 6 Morrow, perforated at 6,680-90 ft., gave up a flow of 3.21 million cu. ft. of gas, 22 bbl. of condensate and 2 bbl. of water per day at the #7 Witter "B," a discovery completed by Phillips Petroleum Co. in Sherman County, Texas. The deeper-pool opener in Section 41, Block 1-C, GH&H Survey, A-58, Texas Hugoton Field, was tested on a 21/64-in. choke. 7 Two Hemphill County, Texas, fields each gained an extension completed recently in Block 41, H&TC Survey. Courson Oil & Gas Inc., Perryton, Texas, tested 3.91 million cu. ft. of gas, 26 bbl. of condensate and 15 bbl. of water per day at #1-14 Flowers to extend Hemphill Field. The outpost in Section 14 flowed on a 21/64-in. choke from Pennsylvanian Upper Douglas at 7,762-7,834 ft. and Lower Douglas at 7,941-62 ft. In Section 125, a 1-mile southeast extension of Canadian Southeast Field completed by Matador Operating Co., Dallas, yielded 103 bbl. of oil and 29 bbl. of water, with 234,000 cu. ft. of gas, per day on pump from Lower Douglas. Matador perforated five intervals between 7,326-7,512 ft. at the #1 Isaacs. 8 Also in Hemphill County, the 20-year-old opener of Washita Northwest Field was confirmed when Bracken Operating LLC, Oklahoma City, completed the #1-49 Donaldson flowing 152 bbl. of oil, 295,000 cu. ft. of gas and 42 bbl. of water per day, reports IHS Energy Group. An 18/64-in. choke was used to test the well in Section 49, Block A-1, H&GN Survey, A-84. The confirmation, a stepout 0.5-mile east of the discovery, is producing through Lower Douglas perforations at 8,084-8,116 ft. The discovery initially pumped 11 bbl. of oil daily from Upper and Lower Douglas. 9 Texas' Upton County is the site of a Permian Wolfcamp discovery finaled by EOG Resources Inc., Houston, flowing 486 bbl. of oil and 192,000 cu. ft. of gas per day on an 8/64-in. choke. The #1 Halff "57" has perforations at 9,185-9,234 ft. It's in Section 57, Block Y, TC RR Survey, A-379, about 1.5 mile northeast of similar production in the company's Piglet Field. 10 E.N. Patton Oil Co. Inc., Abilene, has made discoveries in two Texas counties. In Section 45, Block A, HE&WT Survey, A-409, Schleicher County, the #1B Thad flowed 2.604 million cu. ft. of gas per day on a 20/64-in. choke from Lower Wolfcamp, perforated at 3,618-64 ft. At a second discovery, completed in Cottle County, the company tapped Pennsylvanian Canyon Reef for 109 bbl. of oil and 43 bbl. of water per day on pump. The #1B Evans in Section 9, F.P. Knott Survey, A-885, is producing from an openhole interval in Pennsylvanian Canyon Reef at 4,759-65 ft. A mile to the outheast, the company is set to drill to 5,200 ft. at the #1B Jones, an exploratory test in Section 2, W.B. Plemons Survey, A-690. 11 OXY USA Inc., Tulsa, is waiting on a completion rig after running pipe to a total depth of 8,600 ft. at the #1 Barney Fife, an indicated discovery two-thirds-mile northwest of a recent Ordovician Ellenburger completion made by the company in Jars Field, Ector County, Texas. IHS Energy Group says the prospect is in Section 30, Block 44, T1N, T&P Survey, A-826. Meanwhile, at the Jars Field well in Section 31, Block 44, OXY pumped 398 bbl. of oil, with 77,000 cu. ft. of gas, per day from an openhole interval between 9,850 and 9,927 ft., total depth. The new producer is the #1 Hellcat. 12 Drilling is under way at an 18,500-ft. wildcat in Reeves County, Texas-the #35-1 Sievers operated by Helmerich & Payne Inc., Tulsa. The project is in Section 35, Block 2, H&GN Survey, A376. 13 A Cobra Field well in Glasscock County, Texas, flowed 600 bbl. of oil and 389,000 cu. ft. of gas per day at completion by Range Production Co., Fort Worth. The #1 Powell "5B" was tested on a 12/64-in. choke from Wolfcamp, perforated at 8,380-88 ft. It's in Section 5, Block 35, T3S, T&P Survey, A-319. 14 Lea County, N.M., is the location of the #1 Big Bear "ATN," a wildcat where Yates Petroleum Corp. is drilling below 12,200 ft. Roswell-based Yates plans to take the venture to a projected depth of 13,150 ft. in Mississippian. The drillsite is in Section 29-15s-35e. 15 Also in Lea County, two new producers have been completed producing oil and gas. Wolfcamp at 9,796-9,814 ft. is the producing formation at the #2 Rancho Verde "10" in Section 10-16s-32e, completed by Dallas independent Nearburg Producing Co. flowing 167 bbl. of oil and 47,000 cu. ft. of gas per day. IHS Energy Group notes the well confirms Nearburg's Anderson Ranch Southwest Field discovery, the #1 Rancho Verde "10" State Com, about a quarter of a mile to the south. The discovery yielded a flow of 672 bbl. of oil and 602,000 cu. ft. of gas per day from Wolfcamp at completion. A horizontal Permian Abo well with two laterals was initialed pumping 379 bbl. of oil, with 15,000 cu. ft. of gas, per day by Sage Energy Co., San Antonio, in Vacuum North Field. The #163 North Vacuum "North Unit" was tested in openhole intervals between 8,600-10,406 ft. and 8,600-10,727 ft. It's in Section 36-16s-34e.
