Houston-based, privately held Hilcorp Energy Co. has closed on a transaction with Kerr-McGee Corp. (NYSE: KMG) to acquire various interests in operated and nonoperated oil and gas properties in Colorado and Wyoming. The properties are producing approximately 3,100 barrels of oil equivalent per day from about 700 producing wells in more than 40 fields in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming and the DJ Basin of Colorado. The acquisition also includes more than 79,000 gross acres.
