Privately held Houston-based Castex Energy 2007 LP has closed the acquisition of substantially all of the onshore South Louisiana assets of Energy Partners Ltd., New Orleans, (NYSE: EPL) for $71.7 million in cash. Production from the onshore assets Castex is acquiring and the shelf assets to be divested later is 4,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
