Privately held Houston-based Castex Energy 2007 LP plans to acquire substantially all of the onshore South Louisiana assets of Energy Partners Ltd., New Orleans, (NYSE: EPL) for $71.7 million in cash. Production from the onshore assets Castex is acquiring and the shelf assets Energy Partners plans to divest is 4,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
