• Bonterra Energy Income Trust, Calgary, and Comstate Resources Income Trust have merged. The combined trust has established reserves of approximately 14.5 million BOE and production of approximately 3,500 BOE per day. • Argonauts Group Ltd., Calgary, plans to acquire Chain Energy Corp. for approximately C$30.7 million including the assumption of approximately C$5.3 million in debt. Chain's current production is approximately 1,000 BOE, including 6 million cu. ft. of gas, per day. Chains' assets are in west-central Alberta and the Peace River Arch. It operates more than 90% of its production. Combined, the company will have established reserves of 5.6 million BOE, including 22.2 billion cu. ft. of gas. Production will be more than 2,400 BOE per day. • Aspen Group Resources Corp., Oklahoma City, has acquired Endeavour Resources Inc., Calgary, for stock. The combined companies are producing approximately 2,400 gross BOE per day, 70% gas. Separately, Aspen and Promax Energy Inc., Calgary, plan to merge. The combined company will have production of more than 5,000 BOE per day and reserves of 15 million bbl. of oil. • Crescent Point Energy Ltd., Calgary, has purchased an increased working interest in producing, operated assets in southeast Saskatchewan for C$16 million. 2002 production will now total more than 1,150 BOE per day. • TriQuest Energy Corp., Calgary, has acquired Sommer Energy Ltd. for C$12.42 million in stock. It now has basis production of 8.8 million cu. ft. of gas and 70 bbl. of oil per day. • Mesquite Exploration Ltd., Calgary, plans to acquire assets from Macon Oil & Gas Ltd., 765888 Alberta Ltd. and 74305 Alberta Ltd. for a total of C$6.6 million, consisting of C$4.5 million in cash and C$2.1 million in convertible subordinated 7% debentures with a conversion price of C$1.85 per share. • Devlan Exploration Inc., Calgary, has sold its Lethbridge property for C$4.5 million. The assets include daily production of 1.36 million cu. ft. of gas. • FSFC Developments Inc., Calgary, plans to acquire a 50% working interest in the Ribstone gas field at Coronation, Alberta, 6% of it from Tudor Corp. Ltd., Calgary, for C$1 million in cash. • C.B. Acquisition Ltd., Calgary, has acquired CanBaikal Resources Inc., Calgary. CanBaikal's 2001 production through Sept. 30 averaged 425 bbl. of oil per day. • Appointed to the board of Temple Exploration Inc., Calgary, are Jim Gray, past chairman of Canadian Hunter Exploration; Hank Swartout, president and chief executive officer of Precision Drilling Corp.; Bob Rooney, partner at Bennett Jones LLP; George Gosbee, president of Tristone Capital Advisors; and Paul Wanklyn, president and chief executive officer of Temple Exploration Inc. • R.B. Peterson, chairman and chief executive officer of Imperial Oil Ltd., Toronto, plans to retire this month after more than 41 years with the company. • Sandra S.
