• APF Energy Trust, Calgary, has acquired Kinwest Resources Inc. and its joint-venture partner 987687 Alberta Ltd. for C$47.8 million, consisting of $13.4 million in cash and $34.4 million in units. APF will assume Kinwest's net debt of approximately $9.2 million, bringing the total deal value to C$57 million. Kinwest and 987687 Alberta produce approximately 2,000 BOE per day, primarily in APF's southeast Saskatchewan focus area. • J.C. Anderson, former chairman of Anderson Exploration, which was acquired last year by Devon Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, is now chairman of a new firm Anderson Energy, which has raised C$80 million to explore in western Canada. • Argonauts Group Ltd., Calgary, plans to acquire some producing properties in northwest Alberta and minor properties in Alberta for approximately C$75.8 million. Production is approximately 15.5 million cu. ft. of gas and 595 bbl. of liquids per day. • Northrock Resources Ltd., Calgary, plans to acquire Corsair Exploration Inc., Calgary, for C$3 cash per share for a total deal value of approximately C$53.4 million including the assumption of approximately C$10.7 million in debt. Corsair's daily production averages 856 BOE, 70% liquids. • Provident Energy Trust, Calgary, has acquired producing assets from a major Canadian independent for C$72 million, adding 9.5 million BOE of established reserves and daily production of approximately 3,600 BOE per day. • Quintana Minerals Corp., Calgary, plans to acquire Spire Energy Ltd., Calgary, for approximately C$49.4 million, including assumed C$4.5 million of debt. Spire daily production, at year-end 2001, was 16.3 million cu. ft. of gas. Reserves totaled 26.3 billion cu. ft. of gas. • High Point Energy, Calgary, plans to acquire Mesquite Exploration Ltd., Calgary, for approximately C$48.5 million, including C$19.5 million of assumed debt. Mesquite has daily production of 1,800 BOE, mostly liquids.
