Refugio, Texas-based Hilcorp Energy Co. has permitted a directional South Louisiana test in Louisiana’s Plaquemines Parish. Located in irregular Section 31-19s-28e, #1 Louisiana Land & Exploration will be drilled to 13,082 ft and the proposed true vertical depth is 11,613 ft. The planned bottomhole is within one mile to the northwest in Section 48-19s-27e. The test will target the Miocene in Lake Washington Field. Nearby production in the field is at #17 LL&E Fee, about 1.5 miles northwest of the Hilcorp location. It was completed in 1996 flowing 26 bbl of oil and 110 Mcf of gas per day from Miocene at 16,024-16,044 ft.
