Michael Arruda, Joanne Du and Phillip Georgiou have joined Baker Botts LLP, based in Hong Kong and Beijing, the law firm said Sept. 2.
Arruda has more than 30 years’ experience representing international and national oil and gas companies and other industry clients in E&P, midstream, downstream and oilfield services. He also has handled M&A for Asia-based clients going overseas and for clients investing in Asia.
Joanne Du handles national and international oil and gas M&A, joint ventures and operations. Du is fluent in Mandarin Chinese advises Chinese clients going abroad and international clients investing in Asia, the law firm said.
Georgiou has handled arbitration cases in Hong Kong, Singapore and elsewhere in Asia. He has handled energy-related disputes, including matters involving production sharing contracts, joint operating agreements, construction and engineering contracts, operation and maintenance agreements and power purchase agreements.
Most recently, all three attorneys were in the Hong Kong office of law firm Jones Day, Baker Botts added.
