Jack N. Aydin will join the board of directors at Rex Energy Corp. (REXX), the company said May 26. His appointment is effective June 1, the company added.
Aydin has more than 45 years’ experience as an oil and natural gas industry financial analyst.
Most recently, he was senior managing director at KeyBanc Capital Markets, where he worked for more than 40 years. He became senior managing director in 2000, retiring in 2014, Rex added.
Aydin covered the E&P sector at KeyBanc, focusing on small- and mid-cap companies.
He also managed KeyBanc’s sales and trading office for 10 years and was interim director of research in 2003.
He began his career in 1968 with Filor, Bullard and Smythe, as an equity research analyst and director of research.
Currently, Aydin is a director of Synergy Resources Corp. (SYRG). He is a member of the National Association of Petroleum Investment Analysts, the Oil Analysts Group of New York and the New York Society of Security Analysts.
He has a master’s of business administration degree and a bachelor’s degree from Farleigh Dickinson University. He also has a bachelor’s degree from St. Ephraim Seminary in Mosul, Iraq.

State College, Pa.-based Rex Energy Corp. operates in the Appalachian and Illinois basins.
