Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: APC) elected Anthony R. Chase as an independent company director, the company said Feb. 12. He was also appointed to the board’s governance and risk committee, the company added.

Chase is chairman and CEO of ChaseSource LP, a Houston-based staffing and real estate development firm, the company said. He was chairman and CEO of ChaseCom LP, a global customer relationship management and staffing company, until it was sold to AT&T in 2007, Anadarko added.

Prior to his election to Anadarko’s board, he directed Western Gas Holdings LLC, an Anadarko subsidiary and general partner of Western Gas Holdings LLC, the company said.

From July 2004 to July 2008, Chase served as director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, and was also deputy chairman there from 2006 until departing in 2008, the company said.

From 1999 to August 2010, Chase served as director of Cornell Companies, the company added.

He holds a BA degree, an MBA and a JD degree, all from Harvard, Anadarko said. He has taught law at the University of Houston since 1990, and was given tenure in 1995, the company added.
