According to a June 17 press release from Oilennium Ltd., the American Petroleum Institute will offer online courses from Oilennium, an online training resource. They will be available through the Institute’s API University portal at api.org, the press release said.

The training courses include Introduction to Oil & Gas, Occupational Safety and Health, Health, Safety, Security, the Environment & Quality and Fundamentals of Drilling, the press release said.

“As a major provider of training, certification and standards for the oil and gas industry, the API is always looking for ways to enhance its eLearning catalog to improve safety and performance for the industry. Oilennium’s approach to eLearning makes difficult concepts easier to understand and retain,” said Larry Myers, the director of GP Strategies, a company that hosts the American Petroleum Institute.

“The API has a reputation for providing training services of the highest standard, therefore, having the eLearning modules featured as part of the API-U eLearning catalog is a real testament to the quality and effectiveness of the training that our modules deliver. It also represents a considerable step forward for Oilennium as we integrate our offering further into the global marketplace,” said Kevin Keable, Oilennium’s managing director. The Introduction to Oil & Gas course is currently available, the press release said.

The online courses offered by the Institute—including those separate from Oilennium’s—provide “affordable training tools” for “thousands” of people, the press release said.

The American Petroleum Institute is based in Washington, D.C.

Oilennium Ltd., a Petrofac Training Services company, is based in Loddon in Norfolk, England. It also has a Houston office.
