Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Houston-based Castex Energy Inc. tested an expanded Miocene zone in Louisiana state waters, in St. Mary Parish. The Atchafalaya Bay Field completion, #1 State Lease 20221, flowed 14.08 MMcf of gas, 20 bbl of 37-degree-gravity crude and 35 bbl of water per day. The venture is producing from perforations in Cibicides opima at 18,048-84 ft. It was tested on a 1-in. choke with a flowing tubing pressure of 1,300 psi and a shut-in tubing pressure of 2,600 psi. A Miocene zone at 18,048-68 ft was completed in 2016 and produced 1.9 MMcf of gas, 1 bbl of condensate and 1 bbl of water per day. The 19,100-ft well was plugged back to 18,101 ft for completion. The original hole was drilled in 2010 and tested through perforations at 18,194-18,314 ft.
