IHS Markit reported that Chesapeake Operating Inc. completed a Turner discovery in the Powder River Basin that initially flowed 1.462 Mbbl of 48.9-degree-gravity oil, 8.544 MMcf of gas and 1.155 Mbbl of water per day. The #5-33-68 Rankin A TR 1H is in Section 5-33n-68w of Converse County, Wyo. Production is from a horizontal lateral in Turner extending southward to 15,424 ft and the planned true vertical depth was 10,466 ft. It was tested on an open choke after 23-stage fracturing between 10,724 and 15,285 ft with a flowing tubing pressure of 2,325 psi and a casing pressure was 902 psi. Chesapeake’s headquarters are in Oklahoma City.
