Suncor Energy Inc. has retained Macquarie Tristone to sell assets in southern Alberta.

The package includes various interests in 87,673 gross acres (54,189 net) with 55,099 acres developed (30,283 net developed) in the Southern Foothills.

The sales are in four separate areas: Panther, Savanna, Coleman and Waterton. The areas feature large, contiguous land blocks on established structural trends with existing seismic coverage. Production is from large, thrusted Mississippian gas fields with material development upside potential identified.

Production is approximately 8,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Suncor prefers a single bid for all assets but will consider offers on portions of the Southern Foothills sale assets.
