Description

Hunt Oil Company of Canada Inc. has retained Scotia Waterous to divest all of its Canadian assets.

The Hunt Canadian offering includes gas-weighted production with exposure to emerging tight oil and gas plays in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan that have been divided into six evaluation areas.

The properties feature medium-to-long life, natural gas-weighted assets covering 376,689 net undeveloped acres (55,327 undeveloped gross royalty acres) in the Horn River area of British Columbia, the "Northern" area featuring operations in eastern British Columbia and northern Alberta, the Deep River, Caroline and Willesden Green areas of Alberta and the "Southern" area featuring operations in southern Alberta and Saskatchewan. The six areas have evaluation areas ranging from 1,000 to 5,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Total production is 14,900 barrels equivalent per day (60% gas). Proved reserves are 32.9 million barrels equivalent (20.7 million proved producing) and proved and probable reserves are 52.9 million barrels equivalent.

Hunt Oil will consider either joint venture or full sale proposals for the Horn River assets.

The properties also feature opportunities for waterflood, horizontal drilling and multi-stage fractures and the ability to own and operate infrastructure in key areas.

The bid due date is Oct. 7. The effective date is Oct. 1. Contact Paul Walmsley, 403-218-6789.
