Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Zion Oil & Gas announced results from initial testing of exploration well #1-Megiddo-Jezreel in the Megiddo-Jezreel license area in eastern Israel. The well was targeting the Triassic-age Mohilla formation. Oil was found in a zone between 16,415 ft and 16,500 ft and mud logs indicated light oil, while wireline logging indicated other zones of interest. The well was cased, perforated, acidized and swabbed. During swabbing, the data confirms the well artificially flows at a rate of approximately 90-110 bbl of (unspecified) fluid per day. Based on operations, the Dallas-based company believes that there is an active petroleum system with mature source rocks and that the rocks have expelled hydrocarbons that have migrated into a trap which was drilled at the well. Additional targets could be tested.
