Strand Energy LLC, based in Houston, announced a Sub-Clarksville discovery in Smith County (RRC Dist. 6), Texas, at #1 Gift Ranch. The well flowed 120 bbl of 36.5-degree-gravity crude and 39 Mcf of gas per day from natural perforations at 5,062-68 ft. The venture was directionally drilled on a 452-acre lease in the Steven C. Splawn Survey, A-898 to 6,034 ft, 5,885 ft true vertical. It was tested on a 14/64-in. choke with a flowing tubing pressure of 171 psi. The Sub-Clarksville venture is the shallowest producer in this part of Smith County where most of the production in the area comes from deeper pays in Paluxy and Rodessa.
