Description
A high-volume, extended-lateral producer was completed by Continental Resources Inc. Preliminary results from #1-8-5XH Lorene are 6.715 Mbbl of oil equivalent (72% gas) during an initial 24-hour test (approximately 29 MMcf of gas and 1.88 Mbbl of condensate per day). The Stack play-Meramec discovery is in Section 17-14n-12w, Blaine County, Okla. The well was designed with a 2-mile lateral extending north across Section 8 to an estimated depth 23,503 ft that bottomed in Section 5-14n-12w. Other details are not yet available. According to IHS Markit, the Anadarko Basin drillsite is near the convergence of Squaw Creek and Greenfield West fields in an area of vertical wells tapping Atoka and Morrow and horizontal Springer and Woodford producers. Continental is based in Oklahoma City.
