Hurricane Harvey knocked crude output in Texas 15% lower in September compared to a year earlier, preliminary statistics released on Dec. 1 by the state's energy regulator showed.
Texas pumped 69.2 million barrels (bbl) of oil in September compared with an adjusted 81.3 million bbl a year ago, the Railroad Commission (RRC) of Texas said.
Average daily production in September was 2.31 million bbl, compared to an average 2.38 million bbl a year ago. Production in September came from 179,660 wells.
Midland County, home to the Permian Basin, was the state's top oil producer in September with 7.66 million bbl of oil. Karnes County, home to the Eagle Ford Shale, was second with 5 million bbl of oil, the Texas RRC reported.
