The #1 Nelson 53 is targeting oil pays in Paluxy with a planned depth of 9,250 ft, 9,200 ft true vertical. The rig is in irregular Section 53-2n-2e. Nearby production is to the northeast in the abandoned Latham Field, which was discovered by Pruet in 1985 at #1 Nelson-Reynolds 35. Pruet operates most of the wells in Latham Field, which produces from Paluxy at 7,842-8,513 ft.
