Meicigama Energy LLC, according to IHS Markit, is drilling a 5,465-ft wildcat in Jackson County, Mich. The exploratory test, #1-26 Trotter, is targeting pays in Prairie du Chien and is in Section 26-2s-2e. The venture is the Arbor, Mich.-based company’s first exploratory test. Six miles southwest of the #1-26 Trotter test are numerous wells in Napoleon Field, with most being drilled by West Bay Exploration and Savoy Energy LP. Wells in the growing reservoir yield crude from Trenton/Black River at depths of around 4,100-4,700 ft. Reservoir production in recent months has come from around 50 active wells. Many of the producers in the reservoir are horizontal completions.
