Drilling Activity Summary

Description

A Norphlet wildcat has been scheduled near the Alabama/Florida state line by Sklar Exploration Co. LLC. Located in Escambia County, Ala., #1 Cedar Creek Land & Timber 27-7 will be directionally drilled in Section 22-1n-9e. The oil test has a planned depth of 15,841 ft, 15,497 ft true vertical. In 1973, an offsetting vertical test was drilled at #1 T.R. Miller 27-1. It was abandoned at 15,405 ft in Norphlet. Smackover oil production in Florida’s Jay Field covers portions of Escambia and Santa Rosa counties in the Florida panhandle. Wells in the reservoir yield oil and gas through perforations at 15,200-15,800 ft and Jay Field is about 2.5 miles southwest of Shreveport, La.-based Sklar’s scheduled Norphlet test.
