Description

In Dimmit County (RRC Dist. 1), Texas, Murphy Oil Corp. has completed two Eagle Ford Shale wells in the company’s Catarina project area. The Houston-based company’s Briscoe Ranch Field wells were drilled from offsetting surface locations on a 640-acre South-west Texas lease in Section 1171, Bowie CSL Survey, A-852. The #1H Briggs Unit J flowed 712 bbl of 40-degree-gravity crude, 1.907 MMcf of gas and 727 bbl of water per day. Production is from fracture-treated perforations at 7,927-15,815 ft. Gauged on a 20/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 1,168 psi. It was drilled to 16,255 ft, 7,754 ft true vertical. The offsetting #3H Briggs Unit was completed in a fracture-treated Eagle Ford zone at 7,798-16,142 ft. The horizontal sidetrack was tested flowing 643 bbl of 40-degree-gravity crude, 2.453 MMcf of gas and 71 bbl of water per day. It was drilled to 16,283 ft and the true vertical depth is 7,754 ft.
