Description
In Wayne County, Ill., Batemans Bay Exploration has staked a deeper pool wildcat in Mount Erie North Field. Located in Section 4-1n-9e, the 4,100-ft #1 Taylor is targeting oil pays in Warsaw. The Oklahoma City-based company drilled a Warsaw test about 10 miles to the northwest at #1-24 Manda in 2016 to a total depth of 4,080 ft. The Clay City Consolidated Field test was drilled to 4,080 ft and was production-tested in Warsaw with no other details reported. There are several dry holes in Section 4 and the deepest test is #1 Keiger, which was abandoned in 1953 at a depth of 3,310 ft. Other wildcats in the section were drilled more than 50 years ago.
