Description

Magnum Hunter Resources Corp. released results on three Marcellus Shale wells in Tyler County, W. Va. The #1301 Stewart Winland Unit had a peak rate of 17 MMcfe/d (23% condensate and 25% NGLs). The 12,310-ft well has a true vertical depth of 12,310 ft, 6,155 ft true vertical. Production is from a 5,762-ft lateral that was fractured with 27 stages. The #1302 Stewart Winland flowed 17.1 MMcfe/d (19% condensate and 26% NGLs). The 12,900-ft well has a true vertical depth of 6,147 ft. Production is from a 5,676-ft horizontal lateral that was fractured with 29 stages. The #1303 Stewart Winland flowed 16.8 MMcfe/d. The 13,500-ft well has a true vertical depth of 6,149 ft. Production is from a 5,762-ft horizontal lateral that was fractured with 29 stages. A Utica Shale producer was also completed from the same pad: #1300 Stewart Winland flowed 46.5 MMcfe/d. The Utica Shale well was the first for the company in West Virginia. According to IHS Inc., Houston-based Magnum Hunter has drilling rights to more than 200,000 net acres in the shale plays of West Virginia and Ohio with roughly 43,000 acres overlapping the Marcellus/Utica plays.
