Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Meicigama Energy LLC has permitted its first test, a 5,465-ft wildcat in Jackson County, Mich. According to IHS Markit, #1-26 Trotter will be in Section 26-2s-2e. The southern Michigan exploratory test is targeting pays in Prairie du Chien. Nearby drilling is about 2 miles to the southeast in Section 1-3s-2e at #1 George P. Dorr, a 1981 venture that was drilled to 5,202 ft in Traverse Lime. Nearby Prairie du Chien production is in Lenawee County’s Franklin Field about 20 miles southeast of Meicigama Energy’s test. Further to the southeast is Napoleon Field, where West Bay Exploration and Savoy Energy LP have ongoing drilling programs. Wells in the reservoir produce crude from Trenton/Black River at depths from 4,100-4,700 ft. Many of the wells in the reservoir are horizontal completions.
