ExxonMobil Corp. and Qatar Petroleum are expecting to receive permission from the government of Cyprus to return to its exploration operation in Block 10, despite warnings from Turkey that such activity infringes on the rights of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. According to the Cypriot newspaper, Phileleftheros, the partners plan to drill its initial exploration well on the block in 2018 at a site far from the area in dispute between the Cypriot factions. The first well, #1-Delphini, will be followed by wells at the Antheia and Glafkos prospects.
