Description
Cimarex Energy Co. announced an extended-lateral Avalon Shale oil well in the Lea County, N.M., part of Diamondtail Field. The Delaware Basin well, #001H Coriander AOC 1-12 State, was tested on gas lift flowing 630 bbl of oil, 993 Mcf of gas and 4.362 Mbbl of water from fracture-stimulated perforations at 9,470-18,976 ft. The discovery was drilled to 19,004 ft, 9,557 ft true vertical, and is in Section 1-23s-32e. The lateral bottomed almost 2 miles to the south in Section 12. Tested on a 44/64-in. choke, the casing pressure was 930 psi. Cimarex is based in Denver.
