Clean energy technology developer X-Energy Reactor Co. LLC appointed Gregory J. Goff to its board of directors, effective immediately, the company announced in an Aug. 7 press release.
Goff is currently serving on the boards of Exxon Mobil Corp. and Avient Corp. as well as the founder and president of companies G&S Energy and GJG Development.
Goff has also served in a number of other leadership roles, including president, CEO and chairman of Andeavor. Following Andeavor’s acquisition by Marathon Petroleum Corp., Goff served as executive vice chairman for Marathon. Goff also spent almost 30 years at ConocoPhillips, most recently serving as vice president of commercial business.
"With its safe, advanced nuclear design, growing customer pipeline and attractive business model, I believe X-Energy is at the forefront of the commercialization and adaptation of advanced nuclear in order to achieve U.S. and global decarbonization, national security and economic security objectives," said Goff in the press release. "I am honored to join the board and look forward to working with the team as we build-out clean and stable generation resources to address the global need for clean energy."
X-Energy Reactor plans to rebrand to X-Energy Inc. following its merger with special purpose acquisition company Ares Acquisition Corp. The combined company will list on the New York Stock Exchange.
