?1 A 30.7-million-cu.-ft.-per-day?gas producer has been completed by The Woodlands, Texas-based Anadarko Petroleum Corp. in the eastern Loving County (RRC District 8) portion of West Texas’ Haley Field. The #2 J.E. Haley 18 had fracture-stimulated perforations between 16,342-56 ft. in Atoka. Flowing tubing pressure was 6,011 psi on a 13/64-in. choke. The producer was drilled to 17,825 ft. on a 638.54-acre Delaware Basin lease in Section 18, Block 28, PSL Survey, A-1060, about 15 miles northeast of Mentone. Casing has been set, and log tops include Wolfcamp at 11,975 ft.; Strawn at 15,045 ft.; Atoka at 16,316 ft.; and Morrow at 16,968 ft.?Haley Field, primarily in Loving and Winkler counties, is the subject of an extensive deep drilling program by Anadarko and Chesapeake Energy Corp.

2 A Texas Panhandle workover by Strat Land Exploration Co., seven miles southeast of Spearman, flowed 2.54 million cu. ft. of gas per day with a trace of condensate and no water from Cleveland sand. Located in Section 4, Block 2, J.F. Torrey Survey, A-1121, #104 Schumann was tested on a 20/64-in. choke through fracture-stimulated perforations at 6,350-80 ft. Respective shut-in and flowing tubing pressures were 718 psi and 563 psi; absolute open flow was calculated at 6.5 million cu. ft. of gas daily. Strat Land Exploration is based in Tulsa.

3 IHS Inc. reports that Cimarex Energy Co., Denver, has completed a 4.84-million-cu.-ft., three-bbl.-of-condensate and 260-bbl.-of-water-per-day stepout from a Lower Morrow discovery about 24 miles north of Miami, Texas. The #4 Killebrew 218 is one of two recent discoveries in this area. The #4 Killebrew 218 is in northern Roberts County (RRC District 10) in Section 218, Block 42, H&TC Survey. The completion was in Lower Morrow at 9,938-88 and 10,028-10,062 ft. Cimarex reported 2,508-psi shut-in tubing pressure and 1,113-psi flowing tubing pressure on a 32/64-in. choke; calculated absolute open flow was 6.02 million cu. ft. of gas daily.
Cimarex’s #2217 Wilson discovery is about one mile northwest in Section 217, Block 42, H&TC Survey, A-195. The #2217 Wilson was drilled to 10,852 ft. and flowed 1.23 million cu. ft. of gas daily through Lower Morrow perforations at 10,092-10,137 ft. after fracture stimulation. Reported shut-in and flowing casing pressures were 3,000 psi and 2,815 psi, respectively, with a calculated absolute open flow of 9.51 million cu. ft. of gas per day.

4 Chesapeake Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, has completed another in a series of Anadarko Basin development tests. This one produced 2.65 million cu. ft. of gas, 46 bbl. of condensate and 612 bbl. of water per day. Located approximately 11 miles northeast of Wheeler, Texas, in Allison-Britt Field, #5 Legg 6 reached 14,800 ft. and produced from Des Moines Granite Wash. The well sits in Section 6, Block E, G.W. Jacobs Survey, A-8449, in northeastern Wheeler County (RRC District 10). It was perforated and fracture-stimulated in five stages between 11,968-14,690 ft. with shut-in tubing pressure of 3,140 psi and flowing tubing pressure of 1,662 psi on a 23/64-in. choke. Calculated absolute open flow was almost 22 million cu. ft. of gas daily.

5 Denver-based Cimarex Energy Co. and Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Energy have completed Anadarko Basin producers in northwestern Washita County, Okla. Cimarex’s 15,291-ft. vertical #4-7 Toelle, in Section 7-11n-19w, was tested in Atoka at 15,006-15,166 ft. and initially flowed 4.21 million cu. ft. of gas, 20 bbl. of 42-gravity oil and 140 bbl. of water per day on an 11/64-in. choke after fracture stimulation. The well, in Canute North Field, hit the top of Cherokee at 12,353 ft. and Atoka at 14,070 ft.
To the east, Chesapeake has completed a horizontal well at #1-11H Plump Dumpling, Section 11-11n-19w, on the southern outskirts of Foss, Okla. Tested on a 20/64-in. choke, #1-11H Plump Dumpling flowed 2.26 million cu. ft. of gas daily, with no condensate or water from four fractured intervals between 12,695 and 17,027 ft. in Des Moines Granite Wash. Respective shut-in and flowing casing pressures were gauged at 4,200 psi and 2,900 psi. Chesapeake drilled the lateral north-northeastward to a true vertical depth of 12,523 ft.

6 After drilling to 19,555 ft.,?Marathon Oil Co., Houston, has completed a producer at its #3-12 Parks in the southern Anadarko Basin, about two miles from Rocky, Okla. The #3-12 Parks, in Section 12-8n-18w, southern Washita County, flowed 2.82 million cu. ft. of gas daily, with no reported condensate or water, from six fracture-stimulated Springer intervals between 19,214 and 19,445 ft. Shut-in tubing pressure was 10,500 psi, with flowing tubing pressure of 13,350 psi on a 10/64-in. choke. Log tops include Cisco at 5,018 ft.; Hoxbar at 6,756 ft.; Deese at 8,147 ft.; Atoka, 12,376 ft.; Morrow, 15,351 ft., and Springer at 18,450 ft. Marathon has filed plans with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission involving exploratory acreage in the Mountain View fault region, about five miles from Carnegie, Okla.

7 Another ultradeep Anadarko Basin discovery was completed by Denver-based?St. Mary Land & Exploration Co. about four miles southwest of Fort Cobb, Okla. The #1-19 Edward, Section 19-7n-12w, southwestern Caddo County, flowed 1.53 million cu. ft. of gas and 15 bbl. of water daily through several fractured perforations in the Atoka between 18,514 and 18,610 ft. Flowing tubing pressure reached 1,000 psi on a 64/64-in. choke. Log tops include Lower Skinner at 14,290 ft.; Upper Red Fork at 15,635 ft.; Atoka at 17,260 ft.; Primrose at 20,395 ft.; Cunningham at 20,790 ft; Britt at 21,545 ft.; Boatwright at 21,896 ft.; and Goddard at 22,683 ft. Total depth is 23,024 ft. No shows were reported by St. Mary during production tests of the Goddard, Upper Britt and Cunningham, and these formations have been isolated below bridge plugs.

8 During the first week of testing, gas flowed at an average rate of 8.1 million cu. ft. per day at a Continental Resources Inc. horizontal producer drilled on the western Arkoma Basin shelf five miles south of Lamar, Okla. The #1-1H Blevins, Section 1-6n-11e, Hughes County, is producing from a horizontal Woodford leg that was projected northward to a true vertical depth of 6,193 ft. Additional information has not been disclosed by Enid-based Continental.
Also in Hughes County, Continental completed a Springer exploratory test on #1-29 Hightower, Section 29-17n-13w, which flowed at an average rate of 5.9 million cu. ft. of gas equivalent per day from the Britt sand member.

9 Another Woodford well, #1-1H Harwick, drilled?by?Devon Energy Production Co. LP, has positive results. The test, in Section 1-12n-10w southeast of Geary, Okla., flowed 3.54 million cu. ft. of gas and 627 bbl. of water per day through 10 casing ports between 14,005-16,463 ft. following fracture stimulation in six stages. Flowing casing pressure on a 21/64-in. choke was 1,500 psi. The 16,600-ft. venture is producing from a northwest lateral drilled to a true vertical depth of 13,052 ft. at a bottomhole location in the northwestern part of the section. Devon’s headquarters are in Oklahoma City.

10 A Pine Hollow South Field horizontal flowed 6.31 million cu. ft. of gas. IHS Inc. reports that Houston-based?Newfield Exploration Co. drilled the Woodford producer in the western Arkoma Basin about three miles east of Stuart, Okla.?The #6H-15 A.E. Loftis, in Section 10-5n-12e, was tested on a 64/64-in. choke through perforations in 10 intervals between 8,346 and 12,850 ft. after fracture stimulation in nine stages and acid treatment. Newfield drilled the western Pittsburg County prospect southward to a measured depth of 13,003 ft. at a bottomhole location in Section 15-5n-12e. The true vertical depth is 7,729 ft.

11 Enid, Okla.-based Ward Petroleum Corp. has completed a new 4.77-million-cu.-ft.-per-day gas producer in Talihina Northwest Field, four miles northwest of Talihina, Okla., in southeastern Latimer County. The #4-21 Blake, in Section 21-4n-21e, flowed from seven fracture-stimulated intervals between 3,828 and 3,956 ft. on completion. The well was drilled to 4,000 ft. and had 1,596-psi shut-in tubing pressure and 1,351-psi flowing tubing pressure on a 28/64-in. choke. It encountered the top of Upper Atoka at 2,918 ft. Ward has two other producers in the area, but additional details are not available.
