1 A COG Operating LLC well, #3 Reindeer 21 Federal, was tested for an initial daily potential of 1,353 bbl. of 41.7-degree-gravity crude, 1.24 million cu. ft. of gas and 764 bbl. of water from acid- and fracture-stimulated perforations in Abo at 6,843-10,312 ft. The pilot hole was drilled to a total depth of 6,780 ft. in Section 21-16s-28e. The horizontal leg bottomed to the east at a total depth of 10,600 ft. in the same section. Log tops include Abo at 4,708 ft. and Wolfcamp at 6,640 ft. The new completion by Midland-based COG is in northern Eddy County, N.M.

2 In Eddy County, N.M., an Abo producer in County Line Tank Field has been completed by Mack Energy Corp. The #1 Giants Federal Com was tested pumping 368 bbl. of crude, with 374,000 cu. ft. of gas and 77 bbl. daily from an acid- and fracture-treated interval at 7,133-10,759 ft. Log tops include Abo at 5,791 ft. and Wolfcamp at 7,098 ft. The lateral was drilled out of a 7,290-ft. pilot hole in Section 8-16s-29e, with bottomhole-location in the same section. In addition to Mack, Yates Petroleum and Cimarex Energy are delineating the field. Mack Energy headquarters are in Artesia, N.M.

3 A West Texas wildcat by Chesapeake Operating was completed in Reeves County (RRC Dist. 8) in Delaware near Balmorhea, Texas. The #1 Collier “52-14” flow-tested 232 bbl. of 42.78-degree-gravity oil, 215,000 cu. ft. of gas and 287 bbl. of water per day from commingled acid- and fracture-treated perforations in Bone Spring at 8,139-10,254 ft. and Wolfcamp at 10,342-10,551 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was 295 psi on a 26/64-in. choke. Log tops at the 16,150-ft. vertical include Bone Spring at 8,079 ft. and Wolfcamp at 10,334 ft. The 640-acre lease is in Section 14, Block 52, T8S, T&P Survey, A-4513. The Oklahoma City-based operator’s discovery is near the southeastern flank of Hoban Field.

4 A Kent County (RRC Dist. 8A), Texas, well on the Permian Basin’s Eastern Shelf was completed by Sharp Image Energy Inc. The Big Spring, Texas-based company tested #2 Double Mountain 41A pumping 114 bbl. of 35-degree-gravity oil daily from acidized perforations in Noodle Creek at 5,996-6,068 ft. The well was drilled to a total depth of 7,497 ft. and was plugged back to 6,403 ft. for completion. Log tops include Noodle Creek at 4,547 ft.; Upper Strawn at 6,737 ft.; Mississippian at 7,200 ft.; and Ellenburger at 7,407 ft. The 160-acre lease is in Section 41, Block G, W&NW RR Co. Survey, A-354, southwest of Jayton, Texas. There has been no Noodle Creek production in the vicinity.

5 Amarillo-based PLO Inc. has completed a horizontal producer in Scurry County (RRC Dist. 8A), Texas, on the southwestern flank of Hermleigh Field. The #1H State of Texas, Section 152, Block 3, H&TC RR Co. Survey, pumped 210 bbl. of oil daily, with 20,000 cu. ft. of gas and 60 bbl. of water from an acid- and fracture-treated interval in Strawn at 7,130-8,505 ft. The well was drilled to a total depth of 8,505 ft., 6,925 ft. true vertical. The 160.3-acre lease is located east of Snyder, Texas on the Eastern Shelf of the Permian Basin.

6 Peak Nebraska Acquisitions LLC completed a Cambridge Arch wildcat near Trenton, Neb., as a Lansing-Kansas City oil discovery to open North Reiher Field. The Durango, Colo.-based company’s discovery, #9-34 Adams, is in Hitchcock County in Section 9-1n-32w and produces oil at stripper rates from Lansing-Kansas City at 3,808-3,986 ft. The well was drilled to 4,115 ft. Further details are not yet available. Peak Nebraska has locations staked for four more Lansing-Kansas City exploratory tests within two miles of the discovery; no activity has been reported at these sites.

7 In a largely abandoned western Cherokee Basin Field, Cleveland, Okla.-based Ray Wilbanks has completed a stepout producing 70 bbl. of 29-degree-gravity oil and 20 bbl. of water per day from an untreated Arbuckle interval perforated at 2,378-85 ft. The top of the Arbuckle was logged at 2,380 ft. at the 2,442-ft. venture. The #1 Banning is in Section 18-32s-10e, northwestern Chautauqua County, Kan., and was tested on pump producing 70 bbl. of 29-degree-gravity oil and 20 bbl. of water per day from an untreated Arbuckle interval perforated at 2,378-85 ft.

8 Redland Resources Inc. of Oklahoma City has completed a producer approximately 15 miles northeast of Freedom, Okla. Initial flow rate was 108 bbl. of 28-degree-gravity oil with 250,000 cu. ft. of gas and 118 bbl. of water daily. The #31-2 Helen is in Section 31-29n-16w, Woods County, and was tested in four intervals in Mississippian at 5,248-5,328 ft. after acid treatment and fracture stimulation. Shut-in tubing pressure was 1,475 psi, with flowing tubing pressure of 225 psi on a 20/64-in. choke. Total depth is 5,472 ft.

9 Arnold Oil Properties LLC of Oklahoma City has completed a Morrow development test in the Indianapolis Field region of the Anadarko Basin. Located near Clinton, Okla., in Custer County, #1-35 Hoffman is in Section 35-13n-16w. The producer was drilled to 14,900 ft. and flowed 903,000 cu. ft. of gas with 2 bbl. of water daily during initial tests conducted on a 5/64-in. choke. Perforated, acidized and fractured in Morrow at 14,700-10 ft., the well’s shut-in and flowing tubing pressures were gauged at 9,550 psi and 6,900 psi, respectively.

10 In the Anadarko Basin, JMA Energy Co. LLC has completed a new producer within the town limits of Dill City, Okla., that initially flowed 2.56 million cu. ft. of gas, 97 bbl. of condensate and 23 bbl. of water per day. The #1-5 Loftiss is in Section 5-9n-18w, western Washita County. It was tested in Atoka at eight intervals between 14,830 and 15,308 ft. after fracture stimulation. Oklahoma City-based JMA reported 1,050-psi flowing casing pressure on a 24/64-in. choke. The Dill City Field venture was drilled to a total depth of 15,650 ft. and logged top of Atoka C at 14,425 ft.

11 A Chesapeake Operating horizontal Woodford prospect in northeastern Marshall County, Okla., flowed 109 bbl. of oil, 1.99 million cu. ft. of gas and 194 bbl. of water daily. Located east of Madill in Section 23-5s-6e, #1-23H Optimo was tested through fracture-stimulated perforations at 5,500-9,802 ft. from a north lateral terminating in the same section. Measured and true vertical depths are 9,860 ft. and 4,879 ft. The Oklahoma City-based company reported shut-in tubing pressure of 550 psi and flowing tubing pressure of 563 psi on a 64/64-in. choke.

12 Unit Petroleum Co. completed a Kinta Field horizontal exploratory test of Quinton, Okla., as a Woodford producer. According to IHS Inc., #1H Browne is in Section 29-7n-19e, northern Latimer County, and flowed 1.28 million cu. ft. of gas and 120 bbl. of water per day on completion in a fracture-stimulated lateral at 12,475-14,010 ft. Tulsa-based Unit tested the well on a 36/64-in. choke with 160-psi flowing tubing pressure; shut-in tubing pressure was 650 psi. Unit drilled its prospect northward to a measured depth of 14,160 ft. at a bottomhole location in the same section. True vertical depth is 11,670 ft.

13 Near Greenwood, Ark., gas flowed at an initial rate of 2.83 million cu. ft. per day at an Arkoma Basin test completed by Stephens Production Co., based in Fort Smith, Ark. The #2 Excelsior is in Section 17-6n-31w of Sebastian County. Testing was conducted using a 64/64-in. choke from fracture-stimulated intervals of Basham at 5,136-46 ft. and three Turner intervals between 5,496-5,784 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was 123 psi at the 6,300-ft. venture.
