1 A Bone Spring discovery in the Delaware Basin has been reported by ConocoPhillips in Reeves County (RRC Dist. 8), Texas. The #1H Rustler Hills 7 pumped 200 bbl. of 47-degreegravity oil per day, with 2.2 million cu. ft. of gas and 1,900 bbl. of water daily. Acid- and fracture-stimulated perforations are at 7,303-10,995 ft. The 11,073-ft. well (6,879 ft. true vertical) was drilled on a 640-acre lease in Section 7, Block 57, T1S, T&P Survey, A-600. The new producer is in the northern part of Geraldine Field, a Delaware oil pool that extends southwestward into neighboring Culberson County. Site log tops include Delaware at 2,677 ft. and Bone Spring at 6,172 ft. ConocoPhillips is based in Houston.

2 Devon Energy Production Co. completed a horizontal Bone Spring discovery that initially flowed 467 bbl. of oil, 760,000 cu. ft. of gas and 542 bbl. of water per day. According to IHS Inc., the well is in the Lea County, N.M., portion of the Delaware Basin. The #1H Trionyx 6 Federal had fracture-treated perforations at 10,287-13,792 ft. The company initially drilled an 11,765-ft. pilot hole in Section 6-25s-32e, followed by a 13,860-ft. horizontal leg that bottomed to the north beneath the same section. True vertical depth at the lateral is 9,132 ft. The well could be designated a new-pool discovery in Double X Southwest Field. The Oklahoma City-based operator is also active in neighboring Eddy County, where it operates horizontal Delaware producers in Poker Lake and Poker Lake South fields.

3 Devon Energy Production Co. staked two new Bone Spring wildcats in Lea County, N.M. According to IHS Inc., #1H Fighting Okra 18 Federal is scheduled for Section 18-26s-34e. After drilling a 10,330-ft. pilot hole, the horizontal lateral is expected to bottom over a mile to the north beneath Section 7: the proposed depth is 17,276 ft. and the true vertical depth is 9,974 ft. The well, #1H Green Wave 20 Federal, will be a 13,887-ft. north-trending lateral drilled out of a 9,750-ft. pilot hole. The proposed true vertical depth in the horizontal leg is 9,510 ft.

4 COG Operating LLC has completed a Lea County, N.M., wildcat on the Northwestern Shelf of the Permian Basin. The #1H Range Lake 1 State, in Section 1-13s-34e, was tested pumping 114 bbl. of 34.9-degree-gravity crude and 1,536 bbl. of water per day from an acid- and fracture-treated Abo zone at 7,262-13,654 ft. A vertical pilot hole was originally drilled to 9,700 ft. with a 13,654-ft. lateral. The true vertical depth is 9,211 ft., while the horizontal leg bottomed almost a mile west. There has been no Abo recovery or previous horizontal activity nearby. COG's new discovery is in Ranger Lake East Field, an abandoned reservoir that produced oil and gas from Cisco and Devonian between 1972 and 2008. COG's headquarters are in Midland, Texas.

5 According to IHS Inc.,

Apache Corp. completed a well with the highest initial potential reported to date in the Dal-hart Basin on a delineation test. The #302 Bivins-LIT was tested in Canyon Granite Wash flowing 1,013 bbl. of 45-degree-gravity oil with 781,000 cu. ft. of gas and 50 bbl. of water per day after acid cleanup and fracturing. Apache reports the well produced almost 9,700 bbl. of oil prior to the initial potential test. Production is from perforations at 9,112-22 ft. The well is in Section 3, Block B-5, EL&RR (HE&WT) Survey, A-534, of Oldham County (RRC Dist. 10), Texas. Production was gauged on a 33/64-in. choke with a flowing tubing pressure of 430 psi. Log tops at the 9,600-ft. venture include Cisco D at 8,261 ft., Upper Canyon at 8,851 ft. and Canyon Granite Wash at 9,062 ft.

6 A Midland Basin multizone producer has been completed in Glasscock County (RRC Dist. 8), Texas. The #47I Frysak A is operated by Broad Oak Energy Inc. of Dallas. The well was tested flowing 75 bbl. of oil, 179,000 cu. ft. of gas and 33 bbl. of water from stimulated perforations at 5,964-7,517 ft. (Spraberry/Dean); 7,639-7,822 ft. (Dean/Wolfcamp); 7,959-8,805 ft. (Wolfcamp); 8,832-9,122 ft. (Canyon); 9,319-9,558 ft. (Cline); and 9,762-10,000 ft. (Atoka). The 10,277-ft. well is on a 330-acre lease in Section 47, Block 34, T5S, T&P Survey, A-286.

7 A permit application has been submitted by Chesapeake Operating Inc. for a wildcat in Roberts County (RRC Dist. 10), Texas. The #11H Flowers CCSL, Clay CSL Survey, A-50, is planned as a vertical/horizontal test. After drilling the vertical wellbore, Chesapeake plans to kick off and drill an approximate 4,000-ft. lateral in the Mississippian extending due north in the survey. The Anadarko Basin drillsite is in an area of horizontal Des Moines Granite Wash wells incorporated into Lard Ranch Field and Permian producers assigned to Cree-Flowers Field. The nearest Mississippian well in Roberts County is a St. Louis pool vertical venture completed by Range Production Co. It produced gas and condensate during initial tests of an acidized and fracture-stimulated St. Louis zone at 9,908-10,070 ft. Chesapeake's headquarters are in Oklahoma City.

8 Plano Petroleum LLC completed two exploratory tests in Ellis County, Okla. The #1H-7 Newlyn is in Section 7-17n-24w and initially flowed 570 bbl. of oil and 1.7 million cu. ft. of gas per day from a lateral in Lower Cleveland. In Section 18-17n-24w, #1H-18 Sharon flowed 578 bbl. of oil and 1.1 million cu. ft. of gas per day during fluid flow-back after 14-stage fracturing. This 13,560-ft. prospect had a horizontal leg in Lower Cleveland extending to the north, with a bottomhole in the same section. According to the Plano, Texas-based company, Lower Cleveland and Marmaton have been used synonymously in the play.

9 SandRidge Exploration & Production has received permits to drill two new horizontal Mississippian tests in a Hugoton Embayment region of Comanche County, Kan. The #1-15H PTL is a 12,249-ft. wildcat staked in Section 15-31s-20w and projected southward to a bottom-hole in Section 22-31s-20w. The true vertical depth in Mississippi Lime is estimated at 5,105 ft. The #1-6H Brentley is planned for Section 6-32s-19w with a south lateral extending to 9,849 ft., 5,310 ft. true vertical. The #1-6H Brentley site offsets to the south a Mississippian discovery completed in 2000 that opened Pipeline Field (#1 Thoroughbred Associates Butler in Section 31-31s-19w). SandRidge's headquarters are in Oklahoma City.

10 A stepout from a deep Anadarko Basin Springer pool initially flowed 8.97 million cu. ft. of gas and 27 bbl. of water per day. Oklahoma City-based JMA Energy Co.'s #1-11 Evans is in Section 11-6n-12w of Caddo County, Okla. The well produced from a fracture-stimulated Springer zone at 20,980-21,050 ft. after drilling to 21,213 ft. The venture logged the top of Springer at 20,718 ft. and was tested on an 18/64-in. choke. No additional information is currently available.

11 A second Lower Smackover Brown Dense wildcat is planned by Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. in Union County, Ark. The #1-28H Palmer is to be horizontally drilled in Section 28-19s-17w with an estimated true vertical depth of 9,400 ft., and a 4,666-ft. northward-trending lateral. The Houston-based operator has filed a request with the Arkansas Oil & Gas Commission to integrate unleased mineral interest owners and uncommitted working interest holders in the 640-acre unit comprising all of Section 28. Cabot is currently active at its #1-32H Denny, a Lower Smackover Brown Dense test in Section 32-19s-17w. The emerging Lower Smackover Brown Dense play straddles the Arkansas-Louisiana border. The formation sits below the productive Haynesville shale and Smackover.
