1 OGX Resources of Midland, Texas, completed a horizontal Bone Spring discovery in Eddy County, N.M. The #1H Momba 24 Federal was tested flowing 183 bbl. of oil, 1.71 million cu. ft. gas and 1,008 bbl. of water daily from fracture-treated perforations at 7,393-10,804 ft. Tested on a 48/64-in. choke, the flowing casing pressure was 280 psi. The Delaware Basin well was drilled to 10,927 ft. in Section 24-26s-28e and the true vertical depth is 7,046 ft., with the lateral bottoming nearly a mile to the south beneath the same section.

2 According to IHS Inc., Yates Petroleum Corp. has a new pool discovery in New Mexico’s Mescalero West Field. The #2 Fender BPQ State had an initial daily potential of 172 bbl. of oil and 189 bbl. of water through acidized perforations in Cisco-Canyon at 8,957-9,088 ft. The Lea County well was drilled to 11,454 ft. in Section 17-10s-32e and was plugged back to 10,390 ft. for completion. The well is on the Northwestern Shelf of the Permian Basin. Artesia, N.M.-based Yates’ #2 Fender BPQ State was originally completed in late 2006 as a dual-gas producer to re-establish production in Mescalero West Field.

3 El Paso E&P Co. completed a horizontal Wolfcamp well in Reagan County (RRC Dist. 7C), Texas. The #1H University 43-17 flowed 1,270 bbl. of oil and 591,000 cu. ft. of gas (1,369 bbl. of oil equivalent) per day. The well has a 7,500-ft. lateral and was completed with 25 stages. According to IHS Inc., El Paso plans to optimize its completion processes as well as its flow-back procedures in order to maximize fluid recovery. Drilled to 14,600 ft., the true vertical depth is 6,702 ft. Log tops include Wolfcamp at 6,367 ft., Wolfcamp A at 6,546 ft. and Wolfcamp B at 6704 ft. The Midland Basin producer is in Section 17, Block 43, University Lands Survey. Houston-based El Paso has completed seven Wolfcamp wells to date and planned to operate two rigs in this area for the remainder of 2011.

4 According to IHS Inc., a Caddo Lime discovery was reported by Abilene-based LCS Production Co. in southern Fisher County (RRC Dist. 7B), Texas. The #1 County Line flowed 136 bbl. of 42-degreegravity oil and 75,000 cu. ft. of gas daily from acidized perforations at 6,597-6,604 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was 450 psi when tested on a 12/64-in. choke. Drilled to 6,854 ft., the producer is on a 798.62-acre lease in Section 3, Block 22, T&P RR Co Survey, A-303, on the Permian Basin’s Eastern Shelf.

5 A horizontal Mississippian completion by Range Production Co. flowed 5.87 million cu. ft. of gas, 132 bbl. of 61-gravity condensate and 133 bbl. of water per day. The #6081H Clark Martin Trust is in Section 81, Block C, G&M Survey, A-563, Roberts County (RRC Dist. 10), Texas. Production is from a fracture-stimulated, acidized openhole interval at 10,036-12,604 ft. that was drilled south in the section. Gauged on a 64/64-in. choke, the shut-in tubing pressure was 1,828 psi and flowing tubing pressure was 1,697 psi. Measured and true vertical depths are 12,640 ft. and 9,918 ft, respectively. 6 In Wheeler County (RRC Dist. 10), Texas, Devon Energy Production Co. completed a western Anadarko Basin development test that flowed 17.5 million cu. ft. of gas, 653 bbl. of 56-degree-gravity condensate and 4,111 bbl. of water per day. The #4H Holt 20 is in Section 20, Block RE, Roberts & Eddleman Survey, A-503. The completion was tested in Cherokee (Des Moines) Granite Wash at 12,270-16,634 ft. after fracture-stimulation. Gauged on a 48/64-in. choke, the shut-in tubing pressure was 2,460 psi and the flowing tubing pressure was 1,188 psi, The true vertical depth at the Allison-Britt Field venture is 12,206 ft. Devon’s headquarters are in Oklahoma City.

7 Three horizontal Anadarko Basin completions were reported by Denver-based SM Energy Co. in Wheeler County (RRC Dist. 10), Texas. The #7H Davis 60 is in Section 60, Block A-7, H&GN Survey, A-8783. The venture flowed 1,200 bbl. of 47-degree-gravity oil, 1.78 million cu. ft. of gas and 430 bbl. of water per day from Missouri (Cottage Grove) Granite Wash at 11,271-14,970 ft. Following 10-stage fracturing, flow was gauged on an open choke with 710 psi of flowing casing pressure. The prospect was drilled to 15,154 ft., 10,728 ft. true vertical. In the same section, #6H Davis 60 initially flowed 918 bbl. of 46-degree-gravity oil, 1.48 million cu. ft. of gas and 855 bbl. of water daily. According to IHS Inc., it was drilled with a south lateral in Cottage Grove extending to 15,200 ft., 10,711 true vertical, and fracture-stimulated in 10 stages between 11,223 and 15,080 ft. Tested on an open choke, the flowing casing pressure was 480 psi. The #5H Ruth 4 is in Section 60. This venture was drilled with a parallel south lateral and initially tested on an open choke at 10,993-15,060 ft. in Cottage Grove. The well flowed 642 bbl. of 47-degreegravity oil, 699,000 cu. ft. of gas and 399 bbl. of water per day. The well was fractured in 10 stages and tested with flowing tubing pressure of 1,270 psi on an unreported choke size. The project area is on the northeastern edge of Mills Ranch Field at its juncture with Stiles Ranch and Frye Ranch fields.

8 CO Energy completed a Caddo wildcat in abandoned Avoca North Field. The #1 Olson was tested flowing 42 bbl. of 38-degree-gravity oil, 60,000 cu. ft. of gas, and 4 bbl. of water per day from acid-treated perforations at 4,860-78 ft. The discovery is in Jones County (RRC Dist. 7B), Texas, on a 160-acre Bend Arch lease in Section 189, BBB&C RR Co Survey, A-56. The flowing tubing pressure was 650 psi when tested on an 8/64-in. choke. CO Energy’s headquarters are in Fort Worth.

9 An Anadarko Basin completion by Tulsa-based Eagle Energy Production had an initial flow rate of 2,225 bbl. of 32-degree-gravity oil, 4.77 million cu. ft. of gas and 2,789 bbl. of water per day at a development test in Section 34-26n-13w of Woods County, Okla. The horizontal producer, #3H-34 Longhurst, produces from a Mississippian interval at 6,190-9,805 ft. that was acidized, fracture-stimulated and tested on a 32/64-in. choke. The respective measured and true vertical depths are 9,860 ft. and 5,806 ft.

10 A horizontal Fort Worth Basin well was completed by Wichita Falls, Texas-based Addax Operating LLC in Archer County, (RRC Dist. 9) Texas. The Vogtsberger North Field well, #1H Roddy, was tested flowing 90 bbl. of 40-degreegravity oil per day from fracture-stimulated perforations in Pennsylvanian Vogtsberger at 4,888-6,185 ft. Gauged on a 48/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 110 psi. The well was drilled to 6,542 ft., 4.833 ft. true vertical. The Addax completion was drilled on a 206-acre lease in J.W. Scott Survey, A-915. The lateral bottomed about one-half mile to the southeast beneath the same survey and is the first directional drilling project in Vogtsberger North Field.

11 CML Exploration LLC completed a Cook Mountain oil discovery in Fort Bend County (RRC Dist. 3), Texas. The #1 Highland flowed 200 bbl. of 28.6-degree-gravity crude and 200,000 cu. ft. of gas per day through perforations at 8,616-72 ft. Tested on a 15/64-in. choke, the flowing casing pressure was 1,115 psi and the discovery is on a 251-acre lease in David Randon & Isaac Pennington Survey, A-75. The vertical wildcat was drilled to 8,880 ft. by the King-wood, Texas-based company.
