1 Yates Petroleum Corp. of Artesia, N.M., completed a horizontal Bone Spring well in Eddy County, N.M. The #1H Maduro BOZ State flowed 148 bbl. of oil and 1,235 bbl. of water per day, with no gas, from an acidized, fracture-treated zone at 8,451-12,447 ft. Located in Section 10-25s-27e, the well was drilled to 12,550 ft. and the lateral bottomed to the west at a true vertical depth of 8,038 ft. The top of Bone Spring was logged at 5,904 ft., but additional completion information was not available.

2 Apache Corp. completed a horizontal Abo well in Lea County, N.M., on the Northwestern Shelf of the Permian Basin. The #2H Uno State was tested pumping 125 bbl. of 42.7-degree-gravity crude, with 123,000 cu. ft. of gas and 711 bbl. of water per day. The producing Abo zone at 9,381-14,345 ft. was acidized and fracture stimulated. The Houston-based company initially drilled a 10,723-ft. vertical pilot hole in Section 23-14s-34e, followed by a horizontal lateral that extends to the east-southeast beneath the same section. The total depth is 14,345 ft. and the true vertical depth is 9,725 ft.

3 A Dalhart Basin Field discovery by Gunn Oil Co., #2801 Bivins-Lit AC, pumped 100 bbl. of oil, 119,000 cu. ft. of gas and 257 bbl. of water daily. The completion is in Section 28, Block GM-2, G&M Survey, A-278 in Oldham County (RRC Dist. 10), Texas. Production comes from four Canyon Wash intervals (20 net perforated ft.) between 9,245 and 9,340 ft. following fracture-stimulation. The venture was drilled to 9,600 ft. According to IHS Inc., Apache Corp. reported that the company was preparing to launch a multi-year exploration program targeting Canyon Granite Wash along the southeastern flank of the Dalhart Basin. Apache has 61 square miles of recently acquired 3-D seismic in northeastern Oldham on its Bivins Ranch prospect and is planning a 235-sq.-mile 3-D survey covering portions of northeastern Oldham County, southeastern Hartley County and northwestern Potter County. Gunn Oil's headquarters are in Wichita Falls, Texas.

4 A western Anadarko Basin completion was reported by Apache Corp. of Houston in the Horizon/Pan Petro Field region in Ochiltree County (RRC Dist. 10), Texas. The #7H McGarraugh G et al 138 is in Section 138, Block 13, T&NO Survey, A-1119. The initial production rate was 999 bbl. of oil, 1.09 million cu. ft. of gas and 33 bbl. of load water per day when tested on a 48/64-in. choke. Production is from a south open-hole lateral at 7,420-8,528 ft. in Cleveland that was fracture-stimulated in five stages. The true vertical depth is 7,013 ft.

5 At Continental Resources Inc.'s Northwest Cana project, the Enid, Okla.-based company reported preliminary completion information on two Woodford wildcats in Dewey County, Okla. The #1-15H Carter is in Section 15-16n-16w and tested flowing 3.2 million cu. ft. of gas and 163 bbl. of condensate per day from a horizontal Woodford leg drilled northward in the section. The measured and true vertical depths were projected at 18,580 ft. and 13,861 ft., respectively. The #1-35H Helzer in Section 35-17n-16w was tested flowing 5.4 million cu. ft. of gas and 57 bbl. of condensate per day from a northerly Woodford lateral drilled to an estimated 17,807 ft., 13,429 ft. true vertical. Additional completion information for both wells is not available.

6 Eagle Energy Production LLC of Tulsa reported a Mississippian completion on the Anadarko Basin's Northern Shelf. The #1H-33 Leslie is in Section 30-26n-12w of Alfalfa County, Okla., and produced 425 bbl. of 38-degree-gravity oil, 2.7 million cu. ft. of gas and 4,298 bbl. of water per day from an acidized and fractured lateral at 6,450-9,936 ft. The 10,000-ft. venture was drilled southward to a true vertical depth of 5,953 ft. at a bottom-hole location in Section 33-26n-12w.

7 Devon Energy Production Co. of Oklahoma City completed two Anadarko Basin horizontal Woodford wells in Canadian County, Okla. The #1-29H Smith is in Section 29-14n-9w and flowed 3.32 million cu. ft. of gas, 152 bbl. of condensate and 346 bbl. of water per day from a Woodford lateral at 11,958-16,251 ft. After drilling to 16,275 ft., 11,713 ft. true vertical, the venture was acidized and fracture-stimulated in 10 stages. Devon reported an initial daily flow rate of 2.67 million cu. ft. of gas, 18 bbl. of condensate and 1,799 bbl. of water from #1-33H Copeland in Section 3-13n-9w. The well was tested on a 20/64-in. choke and produced from a Woodford lateral at 12,830-17,045 ft. after a 10-stage acid and fracture treatment. Drilled to 17,157-ft. the well has a north lateral extending to a true vertical depth of 12,521 ft.

8 Chaparral Energy LLC's development well in the Sooner Trend was completed as an Oswego producer. The #110 Dover Unit is in Section 26-18n-7w of Kingfisher County, Okla. The well pumped 163 bbl. of 38-degree-gravity oil with 55,000 cu. ft. of gas and 337 bbl. of water per day from Oswego at 6,609-43 ft. after four-stage fracturing. The 7,205-ft. venture is offset by six wells in the former Dover-Hennessey Field. Oklahoma City-based Chaparral has a multi-well drilling program under way in the region.

9 Chaparral Energy LLC of Oklahoma City completed an Ellenburger producer in Cooke County (RRC Dist. 9), Texas. The #703R Sizelove was tested pumping 180 bbl. of 42-degree-gravity oil and 52,000 cu. ft. of gas per day from acid-stimulated perforations at 8,948-9,086 ft. The well was originally completed in 1946 on a 519-acre lease in John McKerley Survey, A-639. Chaparral re-entered the well in 2010 and deepened it to 9,268 ft. The well, which last produced in 1996, was part of a unitized lease in Sivells Bend Field.

10 Tulsa-based Newfield Exploration completed two Arkoma Basin horizontal wells from a common pad in Section 4-5n-13e of Pittsburg County, Okla. The #3H-33E Peggy was tested on a 64/64-in. choke flowing 6.38 million cu. ft. of gas with 3,666 bbl. of water daily. Production comes from acidized and fracture-stimulated Woodford intervals at 9,421-16,831 ft. and Mississippian at 16,898-16,900 ft. The measured and true vertical depths are 17,522 ft. and 8,330 ft., respectively. Ten feet to the west, #4H-33 Peggy initially flowed 6.61 million cu. ft. of gas and 3,192 bbl. of water per day from treated zones in Woodford at 9,500-10,528 ft; Hunton, 10,610-10,696 ft.; Woodford, 10,778-11,050 ft.; Hunton, 11,132-11,302 ft.; Woodford, 11,384-11,992 ft.; Mississippian, 12,074-12,160 ft.; and Woodford at 12,260-16,845 ft. This 17,083-ft. venture (8,490 ft. true vertical) was drilled with a parallel lateral terminating in Section 33-6n-13e and was tested on a 64/64-in. choke.

11 A development test by Lafayette, La.-based PetroQuest Energy LLC flowed at an initial daily rate of 8.53 million cu. ft. of gas, with 880 bbl. of water. The Arkoma Basin venture, #1-34H Dash Ranch, is in Section 34-7n-14e of Pittsburg County, Okla. The well was tested in a fracture-stimulated and acidized horizontal Woodford interval at 8,298-13,311 ft. with 200-psi flowing tubing pressure on an open choke. The well has a south lateral that extends to a measured depth of 13,454 ft., 8,157 ft. true vertical. PetroQuest has permits to drill two other horizontal Woodford tests with parallel south laterals from the same pad—#2-34H Dash Ranch, which is projected to 12,738 ft., and #3-34H Dash Ranch, proposed to 13,380 ft.
