1 Cimarex Energy of Denver reported two Abo-Wolfcamp producers in Section 30-15s-31e, Chaves County, N.M. The #2 Saratoga 30 State Com had an initial daily potential of 150 bbl. of 40.4-degree oil, 284,000 cu. ft. of gas and 98 bbl. of water from an acid- and fracture-treated interval at 8,950-13,193 ft. According to IHS Inc., the flowing tubing pressure was 100 psi on an open choke. The completion was drilled to 13,193 ft., 8,634 ft. true vertical. The #1 Saratoga 30 State Com was tested on pump for 93 bbl. of oil daily from a fracture-treated openhole interval at 8,484-12,275 ft., and the true vertical depth is 8,737 ft.

2 A horizontal Delaware Basin wildcat in Lea County, N.M., Mewbourne Oil Co.'s #1H Red Hills West 8 Federal, tested at an initial daily potential of 366 bbl. of crude, 116,000 cu. ft. of gas and 1,067 bbl. of water. Production comes from an acid- and fracture-stimulated zone at 9,409-13,460 ft. in Bone Spring. The 13,513-ft. lateral was drilled out of a 9,650-ft. pilot hole in Section 8-26s-32e and the true vertical depth is 8,932 ft. with a bottomhole location beneath the same section. Mewbourne has received permits for two nearby wells in the county, #2H Red Hills West 8 Federal Com and #1H Red Hills West 10 Federal Com. Mewbourne's headquarters are in Tyler, Texas.

3 A Delaware Basin completion by Yates Petroleum Corp. was tested pumping 290 bbl. of oil, with 1.16 million cu. ft. of gas and 614 bbl. of water. The venture by the Artesia, N.M.-based company, #1 Bargain BQA Federal, is in Section 22-22s-33e of Lea County, N.M. Acid- and fracture-treated perforations are at 9,949-14,940 ft. in Bone Spring. Gauged on a 24/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 800 psi. The lateral was drilled to 15,010 ft. and the true vertical depth was 9,517 ft. Yates requested that the well be placed in the new Brinninstool North Field. The pilot hole was a re-entry of #01 Cheaper Than Kids Federal, a 9,150-ft. test abandoned in 1996. Yates deepened the well to 10,500 ft. before kicking off the horizontal leg at 9,083 ft.

4 A horizontal producer, #1H Johnson 1-86, was completed by Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Operating Inc. in Loving County (RRC Dist. 8), Texas. The Delaware Basin well was tested flowing 559 bbl. of 48-degree crude per day, with 1.10 million cu. ft. of gas and 1,392 bbl. of water from acid- and fracture-stimulated perforations at 11,362-14,962 ft. The Wolfcamp well had a flowing tubing pressure of 3,550 psi. Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake drilled the well to a total depth of 15,077 ft. on a 640-acre lease in Section 86, Block 1, W&NW RR Co Survey, A-1106, and the true vertical depth is 10,996 ft.

5 A Des Moines Granite Wash completion in Wheeler County, (RRC Dist. 10) Texas, was announced by Chesapeake Operating Inc. The #3H Zybach 15 is in Section 15, Block RE, Roberts & Eddleman Survey, A-502. Tested on a 64/64-in. choke, the producer flowed 13.7 million cu. ft. of gas, 385 bbl. of 51-gravity condensate and 572 bbl. of water per day. The well was drilled to 16,312-ft., 11,685 ft. true vertical and was tested in a horizontal interval of Des Moines Granite Wash between 11,776 and 16,183 ft. Following a multistage fracturing, the shut-in casing pressure was 2,132 psi and a flowing casing pressure was 1,148 psi. The western Anadarko Basin venture was drilled northward almost 4,700 ft. across the section.

6 Englewood, Colo.-based Cordillera Energy Partners III completed three horizontal Des Moines producers in the Anadarko Basin. In the Section 1, Block 2, B&B Survey, in the Stiles Ranch Field area of Wheeler County (RRC Dist. 10), Texas, #5HB Dobson flowed 16.7 million cu. ft. of gas and 540 bbl. of condensate during a 24-hour sales period. The 16,849-ft. well (12,600 ft. true vertical) was fracture-stimulated in 12 stages. At #2042HB Byrd, gas flowed at an initial rate of 10.4 million cu. ft. per day, with 395 bbl. of condensate daily. The #2042HB Byrd is in Section 42, Block A-3, H&GN Survey, A-8798, and was drilled to 17,364 ft., 13,120 ft. true vertical. The #5-6HC Sayre Ranch is in Section 5-12n-26w and initially tested 5.27 million cu. ft. of gas with 170 bbl. of condensate per day from the Granite Wash B bench after 12-stage fracture stimulation. The 16,845-ft. Reydon Field well has a 3,781-ft. lateral extending northward to a true vertical depth of about 12,800 ft.

7 Jones Energy Ltd. of Austin reported preliminary completion results from a horizontal Cleveland well in Oklahoma's Arnett East Field region. Jones' #36-2H Patriots is in Section 36-20n-23w of Ellis County. The producer flowed 504 bbl. of oil, 597,000 cu. ft. of gas and 126 bbl. of water per day during initial tests of a Cleveland lateral at 9,052-12,550 ft. Drilled to 12,765 ft., 8,373 ft. true vertical, the venture has a south lateral extending to a bottomhole in the same section.

8 In Ellis County, Kan., Sandlin Oil Corp. of Denver reported an initial natural pump rate of 100 bbl. of oil per day, with no water, at a western flank completion in Bemis-Shutts Field. The #1 Staab-Karlin is in Section 15-12s-18w and produces from an untreated Arbuckle interval perforated at 3,762-74 ft. According to Sandlin, slight oil shows were recovered during a production test of a deeper Arbuckle zone at 3,701-03 ft. and the company isolated that interval below a bridge plug.

9 A discovery by Plymouth Exploration LLC of Tulsa was tested as the first horizontal-Cleveland sand well in an Anadarko Basin township. The #1-21H Pierce Oil initially flowed 288 bbl. of 42-gravity oil per day, with 2.58 million cu. ft. of gas and 2,520 bbl. of water. Plymouth's completion is in Section 21-14n-19w in Custer County, Okla., and was tested on a 41/64-in. choke producing through acidized and fracture-stimulated perforations at 11,800-13,850 ft. with a flowing tubing pressure of 900 psi. The well was drilled to 14,211 ft., 10,362 ft. true vertical.

10 According to IHS Inc., a Mississippian producer by Eagle Energy Production flowed 1,159 bbl. of 39-gravity oil, 4.44 million cu. ft. of gas and 2,403 bbl. of water per day. The #1H-31 Avard is in Section 30-26n-12w of Alfalfa County, Okla., and was tested on a 64/64-in. choke. Production comes from acidized and fracture-stimulated perforations between 6,450 and 9,398 ft. Tulsa-based Eagle Energy drilled the venture southward to 9,997 ft., and the true vertical depth is 5,876 ft.

11 Chesapeake Operating Inc. completed two horizontal Barnett wells in Newark East Field in Johnson County (RRC Dist. 5), Texas. The initial daily potential for #4H King B was 10.78 million cu. ft. of gas and 850 bbl. of water through acid- and fracture-stimulated perforations at 7,574-13,721 ft. Gauged on a 48/64-in. choke, the flowing and shut-in tubing pressures were 754 psi and 1,864 psi, respectively. The venture is on a 323-acre lease in the H.G. Catlett Survey, A-183 and was drilled to 13,840 ft., 7,199 ft. true vertical. The #3H King B is a direct offset and was tested through acid- and fracture-treated perforations at 7,540-13,613 ft. and flowed 9.32 million cu. ft. of gas and 1,022 bbl. of water daily. Gauged on a 48/64-in. choke, the flowing and shut-in tubing pressures were 794 psi and 1989 psi, respectively. The well was drilled to 13,760 ft., 7,250 ft. true vertical.

12 Buffco Production Inc. reported a 2010 Pettet discovery in Cherokee County (RRC Dist. 6), Texas. The wildcat is located on a 48-acre lease in Section 240, Greenberry Jenkins Survey, A-459. The Longview, Texas-based company's #1 Tinsley flowed 2.2 million cu. ft. per day from acidized perforations at 8,950-58 ft. Gauged on a 10/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 3,665 psi and the shut-in tubing pressure was 4,115 psi. The vertical wildcat was drilled to 10,100 ft. and plugged back to 9,960 ft.
