?1 Great Plains Energy completed two Lansing-Kansas City producers approximately 12 miles north of Benkelman, Neb. The wells by the Wahoo, Neb.-based company have expanded Nebraska’s Red Arrow Field on the Cambridge Arch. The #1 Parker is in Section 17-3n-37w, eastern Dundy County, and initially pumped 88 bbl. of oil per day from two treated Lansing-Kansas City intervals, the A zone at 4,280-84 ft. and the D zone at 4,416-20 ft. The well was drilled to a total depth of 4,570 ft. and cased to 4,564 ft. after a drillstem test at 4,410-53 ft. recovered 35 ft. of muddy oil. About a half-mile north, Great Plains completed #2 Jessee in Section 17-3n-37w. It initially pumped eight bbl. of oil daily from a treated Lansing-Kansas City C zone interval at 4,406-11 ft. Total depth was 4,630 ft., and the top of Lansing was logged at 4,319 ft.

2 Producing from the Keyes sand in a?Hugoton Embayment exploratory test,?Wichita, Kan.-based independent Stelbar Oil Corp Inc.’s #1-3 Carr had an initial daily pump rate of 110 bbl. of 42-gravity oil, 100,000 cu. ft. of gas and 70 bbl. of water. Located southwest of Johnson City, Kan., in Section 3-30s-41w, southern Stanton County, the well was perforated and fractured in the Keyes (Basal Morrow) at 5,381-87 ft. Log tops at the site of the 5,515-ft. venture include Marmaton at 4,284 ft.; Cherokee shale, 4,474 ft.; Atoka, 4,897 ft.; Morrow shale, 4,986 ft.; Lower Morrow, 5,284 ft.; and Keyes at 5,371 ft. Stelbar has attempted to extend the field farther at a southeast offset, #2-3 Carr in Section 3-30s-41w. The proposed 5,600-ft. test to Mississippian reached total depth in August 2008, but no details have been released.

3 Gunn Oil of Wichita Falls, Texas, has received a permit for a Palo Duro Basin wildcat in Motley County (RRC Dist. 8A) immediately south of the Hall County (RRC Dist. 10) line. Company plans for #1 Browning are to drill to 6,500 ft. in Section 189, Block S-5, D&P Co. Survey, A-629, about six miles from the town of Turkey, Texas. Targets are Permian and Pennsylvanian formations.

4 IHS Inc. reports that an Anadarko Basin development well by Chesapeake Operating Inc. recovered 46-gravity oil flowing at an initial rate of 515 bbl., with 2.27 million cu. ft. of gas and 151 bbl. of water daily. The #2-5H Wayland Family Trust is located in Section 5-20n-25w, Ellis County, Okla. Testing was performed on a 34/64-in. choke and oil was produced from 42, two-ft. intervals of Cleveland sand between 8,300 ft. and 12,162 ft. that were fracture-stimulated in seven stages. Flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 553 psi. Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake’s new Shattuck Field prospect was drilled northward to a measured depth of 12,275 ft. at a bottom-hole in the same section. The true vertical depth is 8,046 ft.

5 A horizontal redrill by BP had an initial flow of 1.71 million cu. ft. of gas, 190 bbl. of 52-gravity condensate and 25 bbl. of water per day. The #2875 Lutie W. Gex is in the Anadarko Basin about nine miles northwest of Higgins, Texas, in Lipscomb County (RRC Dist. 10). It is producing through frac ports at 8,101, 8,336, 8,573, and 8,872 ft. in a Cleveland lateral drilled northeasterly to 9,226 ft. Production tests were conducted on a 21/64-in. choke. BP’s American headquarters are in Houston.

6 The #3-28 Conley, a Range Production Co. well in Section 28-16n-9w, southwestern Kingfisher County, Okla., initially flowed 1.76 million cu. ft. of gas, 50 bbl. of condensate and 198 bbl. of water daily through an 8/64-in. choke with 2,834 psi flowing tubing pressure. Drilled in heavily explored Altona Field, the 10,892-ft. exploratory test was perforated and fracture-stimulated in four formations: Mississippi solid, 9,240-9,814 ft.; Hunton, 9,897-10,254 ft.; Viola, 10,398-10,510 ft.; and Simpson at 10,854-58 ft. Range is based in Fort Worth.

7 Bays Exploration Inc. of Oklahoma City is reporting three new Ordovician producers near Davis, Okla., in southeastern Garvin County. The #1 Ethel Lou is in Section 35-1n-1e and initially produced 225 bbl. of oil and 150 bbl. of load water per day during swab tests of 12 intervals in the Viola (164 net perforated ft.) between 9,830-10,320 ft. after acid and fracture treatments. In neighboring Murray County, Bays recorded an initial flow rate of 187 bbl. of 38-gravity oil with 150,000 cu. ft. of gas and no water on completion of #2-25 Bonney in Section 25-1n-1e. The 8,057-ft. well was tested on a 36/64-in. choke and produced from an untreated Bromide zone at 7,758-68 ft. Bays recorded respective shut-in and flowing tubing pressures of 1,200 psi and 200 psi. Shows were noted up-hole in Deese, Sycamore, Hunton and Viola. The company’s third new producer is in Murray County, half a mile southeast of #2-25 Bonney. The #1-30 Martin, in Section 30-1n-2e, was perforated, fractured and acidized at 6,820-7,016 ft. in Viola, with an initial swab rate of 168 bbl. of oil, 125,000 cu. ft. of gas and 72 bbl. of load water daily.

8 Citation Oil & Gas Corp. of Houston completed an infill test in southern Oklahoma’s Fitts Field, about two miles southwest of Stonewall, Okla., that flowed 158 bbl. of 39-gravity oil and 683 bbl. of oil per day. The #13-9 East Fitts Unit is in Section 23-2n-7e, southeastern Pontotoc County, and produces from a fracture-stimulated zone in Viola perforated at 4,040-4,152 ft. Choke size, flowing tubing pressure, and total depth information were not available. Citation reported log tops for Cromwell at 2,631 ft.; Hunton, 3,496 ft.; Viola, 3,981 ft., and Bromide at 4,241 ft.

9 Houston-based Meridian Resource Corp. has announced initial production-test results from #1 Sutton A-574. The company’s newest producer is a dual-lateral horizontal Austin Chalk well in Double A Wells Field in Polk County (RRC Dist. 3), Texas. Located on a 976-acre lease in the Thomas Tyler Survey, A-574, flow tests showed gross daily rates as high as 35.4 million cu. ft. of gas equivalent, comprised of 18.6 million cu. ft. of gas and 2,800 bbl. of oil per day. Flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 1,300 psi through an open choke. The well was drilled vertically to approximately 12,200 ft. and was followed by two horizontal laterals. The first leg extends approximately 5,200 ft. and the second about 6,500 ft. into the Austin Chalk at 11,700 ft. The rig was moved from #1 Sutton A-574 to drill a dual horizontal, #1 Black Stone Minerals A-278, in the Franklin Hitchcock Survey, A-278.

10 In western Sebastian County near Hackett, Ark., IHS Inc. reported that gas flowed at an initial rate of 17.2 million cu. ft. per day at an Arkoma Basin completion by Stephens Production Co. The Fort Smith, Ark.-based company’s #4 Woods hit in Bonanza Field in Section 13-6n-32w and was tested on a 40/64-in. choke and produced from three separate fracture-stimulated zones in Basham between 5,101-86 ft. and Turner between 6,482-6,535 ft. Flowing tubing pressure was gauged at 1,507 psi.

11 Seeco Inc., a unit of Houston-based Southwestern Energy, drilled a development well that flowed 5.01 million cu. ft. per day during preliminary tests. The #4-23H14 Jacobs is about 12 miles southwest of Clinton, Ark. The well, in Section 23-10n-16w, Van Buren County, produces from a horizontal bore in the Fayetteville shale that was projected northwestward to Section 14-10n-16w. Initial shut-in pressure was gauged at 963 psi. Two other Seeco horizontal wells completed in the same section in 2007 combined to produce 872 million cu. ft. of gas, including 36.3 million cu. ft. in August 2008.
