The well is about five miles west-southwest of Marshall and 1.25 miles west-southwest of another wildcat by the same company, #1 Molhusen in Juan M. Dor Survey, A-4. Production from a comparable depth is a mile northwest at #1 Davidson Foundation in Woodlawn Southwest Field. That well flowed 1.9 million cu. ft. of gas a day from perforations between 10,144 and 10,290 ft. and has cumulatively produced 733.40 million cu. ft. of gas, 1,096 bbl. of condensate and 70,988 bbl. of water since 1978. 2 A Travis Peak discovery was made by Miller Energy Inc., Houston, at its #1 Magness wildcat in southwestern Shelby County, Texas (RRC 6). The company tested the well in Matthew Moore Survey, A-475, at 477,000 cu. ft. of gas and 365 bbl. of water a day from fractures between 8,067 and 9,342 ft. on an 18/64-in. choke with 765 psi of flowing tubing pressure. The company completed another exploratory well about 1.25 miles west-northwest, also in Travis Peak, to apparently reestablish production in Stockman South Field. 3 Enduring Resources LLC, Denver, plans a wildcat to 11,300 ft. about 5.5 miles east-southeast of Bremond in Robertson County, Texas (RRC 5). The company's #3 TXU will be drilled in Henson Coulter Survey, A-80, more than a half-mile south of the previously permitted #2 TXU. The closest comparable production to #3 TXU well is more than three miles east-northeast at a Bald Prairie Field well, which produces mainly from Cotton Valley. In the same area, the operator permitted #1 Trojacek. That location is about 7.5 miles east-southeast of Bremond and 1.5 miles west-northwest of Bald Prairie Field in James Love Survey, A-210. 4 EnCana Corp., Calgary, boosted its drilling campaign in eastern Robertson County, Texas (RRC 5). It scheduled its #1 R.L. Dodds Jr. "B" wildcat to 18,200 ft. in Pedro Hose Pereire Survey, A-32, more than seven miles east-northeast of Franklin. The company drilled #1 R.L. Dodds Jr. in the same survey in 2004 but hasn't released information on that 17,100-ft. well. The nearest production is 4.75 miles northeast, where the one-well Cannae Field produces from Cotton Valley. The company has scheduled several wells in the area. 5 Wichita Falls, Texas-based Cobra Oil & Gas Corp. tested gas at a rate of 2.32 million cu. ft. and condensate at a rate of 18 bbl. a day at a wildcat more than eight miles northeast of Sour Lake in central Hardin County, Texas (RRC 3). The company's #1 Rebekah, in Section 368, WC RR Co. Survey, A-514, produced through Yegua perforations between 10,153 and 10,456 ft. Cobra has additional nearby wells, IHS Energy says. 6 Cypress Exploration & Production Corp., Houston, has a possible Frio discovery at its #1 Holmes et al. wildcat, drilled five miles east of East Bernard in western Fort Bend County, Texas (RRC 3). The well, about three miles east-northeast of the Wharton County boundary line in H.C. Taylor Survey, A-336, tested at 243,000 cu. ft. of gas a day through a 4.5/64-in. choke with 1,415 psi of flowing casing pressure. The closest production from Frio is a third-mile west-southwest in Tavener Field. 7 Northern Bee County, Texas, (RRC 2) will get a Yegua test from Dan A. Hughes Co., Beeville, Texas, more than 3.5 miles northeast of the town. The company will drill its #1 Charco Ranch to 4,700 ft. in Jose Maria Uranga Survey, A-68. The nearest producer is more than a mile east-northeast, where #2 D.L. Ferrell tested for 404,000 cu. ft. of gas from Yegua in single-well Molina Field, IHS Energy says. 8 Irving, Texas-based Pioneer Natural Resources USA Inc. will drill a horizontal test about 4.5 miles east of the McMullen County boundary line in Live Oak County, Texas (RRC 2). It will drill #1 Charles Nichols Gas Unit to a measured depth of 17,000 ft. within Simon Ryan Survey, A-35, with bottomhole some 3,000 ft. east-northeast of the surface site. A similar horizontal well drilled in Isaacks Field about two miles west-northwest tested for 2.58 million cu. ft. of gas a day through an openhole Edwards interval. 9 U.S. Enercorp Ltd., San Antonio, plans a wildcat, apparently to Wilcox, in BS&F Survey A-22, in southwestern McMullen County, Texas (RRC 1). The #1 McAdams, staked more than two miles east of the Live Oak County boundary, is scheduled to 10,220 ft. The company recently drilled #9 Lindholm-Hanson to 13,300 ft. in Wilcox in the same survey, set pipe and was awaiting completion tools. The nearest Wilcox production is more than a half-mile northeast, where #1 Myla/Em/ Baker tested at 2.03 million cu. ft. of gas a day through perforations between 9,155-68 ft. 10 Delta Exploration Co. Inc., Denver, plans a directional wildcat in southern McMullen County, Texas, (RRC 1) nearly two miles west of the Live Oak County boundary line. It scheduled #1 Morrill Sligo to 15,000 ft. with a surface location in T&NO RR Co. Survey, A-1028, and a bottomhole location in J. Poitevent Survey, A-638 west. The nearest production, about a quarter-mile south-southwest, comes from depths shallower than 6,772 ft. Another quarter-mile northwest, #1 Leonard Jacob in Choke Canyon Field has produced 1.86 billion cu. ft. of gas from Sligo perforations between 13,520 and 13,687 ft. 11 Kerr-McGee Oil & Gas Corp., Oklahoma City, filed an exploration plan with the U.S. Minerals Management Service for a six-well deepwater drilling campaign in East Breaks 424 in the Gulf of Mexico. It plans to drill its Magellan prospect wells from three locations on the northern half of the block. Water depth is approximately 2,800 feet. The nearest drilling was at a dry hole four miles southeast on Block 469. The area is 10 miles north of Kerr-McGee's Nansen Field, which produces from Pliocene and Miocene zones. Nansen has produced more than 34.54 million bbl. of oil and condensate and 197.84 billion cu. ft. of gas since it came onstream in July 2001. 12 BP plans a deepwater wildcat at its Tucker prospect in western Walker Ridge 544. The #1 OCS-G-176003 will be drilled in 6,832 ft. of water, and the company may drill as many as four wildcats on the tract, according to IHS Energy. The St. Malo discovery lies 10 miles south-southeast on Block 678 in 7,036 ft. of water. More than 20 miles east of Tucker, BP found hydrocarbons at its Stones wildcat in Walker Ridge 508. That well reached a total depth of 28,638 ft. in 9,576 ft. of water. 13 Rippy Oil Co., Tyler, Texas, tested gas at a rate of 1.44 million cu. ft. a day with 790 bbl. of water from a discovery in northwestern Red River Parish in northern Louisiana. The company's #1 Barlow produced through an 18/64-in. choke with 2,550 psi of flowing tubing pressure from Cotton Valley perforations between 9,714 and 9,934 ft. in Section 13-14n-12w north and east of the DeSoto Parish boundary. The company drilled the well to 10,050 ft. The closest production is above 3,000 ft., while the nearest Cotton Valley production is in Caspiana Field about five miles northwest in DeSoto Parish. 14 West-central Beauregard Parish in southern Louisiana will host a wildcat drilled by Kash Oil & Gas Inc., Lafayette, La. The company plans to drill its #1 Rice Land Lumber Co. to Miocene at 5,000 ft. in Section 24-4s-11w. The closest production comes from Black Ranch Field, nearly a mile west-northwest. There, #3 Rice Land Lumber Co. reached Wilcox at 9,319 ft. and tested at a rate of 118 bbl. of oil, 42,000 cu. ft. of gas and three bbl. of water a day. The only Miocene production in the parish is in Cowpen Creek and Gordon Southwest fields, more than 15 miles southwest. 15 Pioneer Natural Resources USA Inc., Irving, Texas, will drill a 22,500-ft. wildcat in Section 25-7n-6w about eight miles north of the Greene County line in southeastern Wayne County, southeastern Mississippi. The closest production below 16,000 ft. is more than five miles west-southwest, where #1 Unit "31-1" was directionally drilled to 16,960 ft. and tested for 1.11 million cu. ft. of gas and 107 bbl. of condensate a day from Smackover perforations between 16,698 and 16,863 ft. That well has recovered 820.15 million cu. ft. of gas, 58,575 bbl. of condensate and 19 bbl. of water since 2002, IHS Energy says. 16 Wilcox Energy Co., Natchez, Miss., received a permit for a Frio wildcat three miles north of the St. Helena County, La., line in Amite County, Miss. The company's #1 Jackson et al., in Section 20-1n-5e, will bottom at 2,950 ft. The nearest production is more than four miles west, from Tuscaloosa at depths below 12,000 ft. The closest Frio production is another 2.5 miles northwest in Liberty Field, where #1 Weathersby was tested for 228,000 cu. ft. of gas a day.
