1. Rubicon Oil & Gas LLC of Midland, Texas, completed a Wolfcamp gas well in Lakewood Field. The #2 Lakewood 28 was tested flowing 1.53 million cu. ft. of gas, 10 bbl. of oil and 1 bbl. of water per day. The operator acid- and fracture-treated perforations at 9,630-9,778 ft. after drilling to 9,922 ft. Initially, the venture was permitted to target deeper Morrow. The well is in Section 28-19s-26e of Eddy County, N.M.

2. Grandfield Consulting has an oil discovery in Coke County (RRC Dist. 7C), Texas. The initial daily potential was 832 bbl. of 52-degree oil and 779,000 cu. ft. of gas. The company’s #316 J.L. Brunson C flowed through perforations in Gardner Sand at 5,048-56 ft. on a 26/64-in. choke; flowing tubing pressure was 400 psi. The new producer was drilled to 5,502 ft. The reported log tops are Palo Pinto, 4,338 ft.; Goen, 4,840 ft.; Gardner, 5,047 ft. and Cambrian at 5,371 ft. The well is on a 212.2-acre lease in Section 331, Nicholas Eastland Survey, A-134. Grandfield Consulting is based in Fort Worth.

3. An initial flow rate of 293 bbl. of 42-gravity oil, 1.22 million cu. ft. of gas and 518 bbl. of water per day was reported by EOG Resources Inc. at a development test in Texas. The Anadarko Basin horizontal is in Lipscomb County (RRC Dist. 10), Section 360, Block 43, H&TC Survey, A-754. EOG’s #5H CNB Trustees 360 was tested on a 30/64-in. choke and produced from a fracture-stimulated, openhole lateral in Cleveland at 8,745-12,520 ft. The flowing casing pressure was 911 psi. EOG is headquartered in Houston.

4. Newfield Exploration Co. of Houston reported three high-volume Anadarko Basin horizontal Atoka Wash producers in Wheeler County (RRC Dist. 10), Texas. The #7-9H Britt is in Section 6, Block 1, B&B Survey, A-8436, and initially flowed 22.7 million cu. ft. of gas per day from a 4,500-ft. lateral after being drilled to 14,200 ft. in the Stiles Ranch Field region. The #8-4H flowed 17.2 million cu. ft. of gas per day in Section 5, Block 1, B&B Survey, A-9. Production is from perforations in a 4,300-ft. lateral projected northward beneath Section 8. To the east, in Section 5, an initial flow of 20 million cu. ft. of gas per day was reported at #8-5H Britt. Production is from a 4,200-ft. north lateral extending to Section 8. Additional completion details were not reported. The company plans to drill 20 additional wells in the Granite Wash play in 2010.

5. In Ellis County, Kan., Brungardt Oil & Leasing Inc. completed #6 Brungardt in Section 26-12s-16w as a development test in Emmeram Northeast Field. The well initially pumped 65 bbl. of 37-gravity oil and 10 bbl. of water per day through perforations at 3,147 ft., 3,174 ft., 3,191 ft., 3,243 ft. and 3,290 ft. According to IHS Inc., production is from Toronto and Lansing-Kansas City. Brungardt is based in Russell, Kan.

6. Chesapeake Operating Inc. of Oklahoma City completed a Cleveland delineation test in Custer County, Okla. The Anadarko Basin well flowed at an initial rate of 3.51 million cu. ft. of gas per day, with 78 bbl. of 53-gravity condensate and 144 bbl. of water daily. Chesapeake’s #1-6H Carter is in Section 6-15n-19w and was tested through Cleveland interval perforations between 10,300 and 14,615 ft. After fracture-stimulation, the flowing tubing pressure was 220 psi on a 64/64-in. choke. The true vertical depth is 9,888 ft. and the lateral extends northward to a measured depth of 14,695 ft. with a bottomhole location in the same section.

7. Denver-based St. Mary Land & Exploration Co. reported an initial daily flow rate of 8.5 million cu. ft. of gas and 26 bbl. of water at an eastern Anadarko Basin exploratory test in Caddo County, Okla. The #1-16 Reiss Trust is in Section 16-6n-11w and produces from a fracture-stimulated 16-ft. interval of Springer at 20,055-66 ft. Drilled to 20,850 ft., the flowing tubing pressure was 4,300 psi with an 18/64-in. choke. Log tops at the site were Wade, 8,226 ft.; Skinner, 15,130 ft.; Red Fork, 16,375 ft.; Atoka, 17,755 ft.; Morrow, 18,873 ft.; and Springer, 19,796 ft.

8. In Cement Field, Caddo County, Okla., Chesapeake Operating Inc. reported that #1-27 Griffin flowed 3.22 million cu. ft. of gas, 17 bbl. of condensate and 1 bbl. of water per day. The reentry is in Section 27-6n-10w and was tested producing through perforations at 13,220-30 ft. in Springer following fracture-stimulation. No choke size was reported, but the flowing casing pressure was 5,294 psi.

9. In Oklahoma’s Tonkawa Field, Range Production Co. of Fort Worth has completed the field’s first horizontal well. The #2-29H Mela, in Section 29-25n-1w of Kay County, pumped 358 bbl. of oil, 329,000 cu. ft. of gas and 2,239 bbl. of water per day after drilling to 4,143 ft., 6,622 ft. true vertical. The initial tests were performed on an acidized and fractured interval at 6,355-65 ft. in Mississippian. The new well is in a region on the northwestern flank of Tonkawa Field that usually produces from Pennsylvanian, Mississippian and Ordovician pays. The surface location is offset to the southwest by a 4,450-ft. vertical Mississippian well completed by Range in Section 29-25n-1w. The #2-29 Wilson initially pumped 48 bbl. of oil, 66,000 cu. ft. of gas and 120 bbl. of water daily through perforations at 4,129-80 ft. and 4,220-39 ft. after acidizing and fracturing.

10. In Section 5-5n-30w of Sebastian County, Ark., Fort Worth-based XTO Energy Inc. finaled a 6,723-ft. Gragg Field well having an initial daily potential of 1.68 million cu. ft. of gas per day. The #3-5 Tucker produced through several commingled intervals, including Nichols C at 3,812-28 ft.; Nichols D at 3,980-4,042 ft.; Upper Turner at 4,258-72 ft.; and Upper Borum at 5,918-6,108 ft. Using a 28/64-in. choke, the flowing and shut-in tubing pressures were measured at 212 psi and 387 psi, respectively, and absolute open flow was calculated at 2.39 million cu. ft. per day.

11. Two Middle Atoka producers in the Arkoma Basin were reported by Highland Oil & Gas LLC of Fort Smith, Ark. Both wells are in Logan County, Ark. The #8-19 Sanderson was drilled to 7,191 ft. and flowed 2.31 million cu. ft. of gas per day through acid- and fracture-treated perforations at 6,180-82 ft. With a 32/64-in. choke, flowing and shut-in tubing pressures were gauged at 465 psi and 1,025 psi, respectively, and the calculated absolute open flow was 2.91 million cu. ft. per day. The producer is in Section 19-5n-29w. In Section 10-5n-29w, #4-20 Gregory, a Gragg Field producer, was drilled to 7,150 ft. with an initial flow rate of 1.36 million cu. ft. of gas daily through acid- and fracture-treated perforations at 6,124-6,906 ft. With a 28/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 467 psi and the shut-in tubing pressure was 966 psi. Absolute open flow was calculated at 1.7 million cu. ft. per day.

12. A Fayetteville horizontal producer was completed by Chesapeake Operating Inc. in White County, Ark. The Arkoma Basin well, #1-23H14 Stroud 7-9, is in Section 23-7n-9w and flowed gas at a maximum rate of 7.9 million cu. ft. per day during tests of a lateral at 6,601-12,257 ft. After drilling to 12,360 ft., 6,268 ft. true vertical, the company completed a 12-stage fracture stimulation. Additional completion details were not made available.
